BB2 OLED button requires a hard push to activate

Hi guys,

Any ideas why a large BB2 button would need to be pushed hard to activate it?  Screen is new and bright…just hard to activate it.

Is it the deck with the rubber membrane, or the one with actuator leg springs?
I find the membrane hard to work sometimes.
The buttons with actuator springs are effortlessly...IF...there's no broken legs.

Hey Mark,

Yeah, the rubber membrane.  The button screens are all bright/new.  The small buttons are easy to push, but the large button requires quite a bit of effort.

Jason,  The two I bought in a Laughlin Casino had so much Dust, drinks, etc build up on the rubber membrane that caused the buttons not make contact. It may need a good cleaning. (if its the rubber membrane version). When I cleaned it, it worked like brand new. Still hard to press those buttons tho.

Thanks, Charles.  I found a pretty good video out there, and separating the panel looks pretty easy.  I’ll take a look, and report back.

Took the panel apart and cleaned the area around the large button on the circuit board.  Also all of the plastic parts.  I also think things weren’t seated properly, and made sure to align everything when reassembling.  Man I forgot what a pain in the ass flat flex cables are when there’s a locking socket and just barely enough cable length.

Oh... I hate those...I grab the ribbon cables with a bent pair of tweezers to get and hold them into the sockets.
Then with my other hand, I use a small bent screwdriver to push the locking part down.... all done under a lighted magnifying lamp.
It's much easier to change out the other deck OLEDs but takes time too.
