Help ID’ing old Reno casino slot machine
« on: March 15, 2025, 05:58:10 pm »
Hello,
Any help identifying this machine would be great. I know it’s a “piggyback” from the Overland Casino in Reno, which closed in 1977.  This isn’t a photo of my machine, but it’s the exact same. I was given it as a gift from a family friend years ago who has since passed away. Thanks!

A higher resolution photo of your machine would be nicer.

It's a Pace Ace Space ??? The company started as Pace.
Does it work?
Here's an informative link to more information on this machine. There's also a link for schematics in the threads.

Sadly Monti passed away so I don't know what became of his machine.
Although we do have more members with mechanical slots (including me) there's another forum specifically for antique mechanical machines. They have definitely slowed down though... but you may find some information there as well.coinopcollectorforum.com

But again, please post a photo of your machine when you can. I'm moving this thread to "Other Reel Games."

Thank you very much! That is very helpful.  I've attached photos of my machine.  It works in that it lights up and spins when the arm is pulled but doesn't drop a pay out.  I just read the linked post and was surprised to have experienced the same operational issues of the original poster.  I'm not able to fix it but my kids have a great time pulling the arm and watching both reels spin. I haven't been able to locate a similar machine or info about it until now.

My machine is only a 5 cent machine, so not sure if that's more or less common than the 10 cent machine from the other post.

***Not sure why the photos uploaded sideways. Also not sure how to fix it.

Pictures fixed

I fixed your photos. What is the problem with the machine? Let's get it fixed so it works and pays out.

All of the mechanisms work as far as I can tell, it just won't drop a pay out.  I'm not a person that can fix things like this, especially since the previous posts about these machines have said the payout mechanism problematic from the get go.  I was really trying to figure out what kind of machine it was so I could sell it.  I love it but we're moving and there's no place for it in the new place.
