...Should I do a reset?...

What's that?  :scratch-head_3:

Do you mean pulling out and re-seating in the cashbox?
Sometimes that helps mesh the gears better in the back of the box, to run smoother.

Yes reset the cash box.. should the lever be up or down for removal? I read into some other posters with the same issues, bent pins , which one was bent so I fixed it. The yellow does not come on and will not accept cash. Other thoughts? it used to all work great. thanks

okay...start over...thanks Mopar!

P-Bar, Watch the lever on the cashbox AS you push it fully, all the way in IN and it latches.
That'll give you your answer.

Makes me wonder how the pin got bent?
Any numbers on the reel glass display?
If so, what are they, and in which window?

The lamps behind the yellow bezel will NOT light up until ALL the faults regarding the bill validator, are cleared.
This may also include checking the bulbs themselves for continuity with a cheap digital multimeter that one can get at places such as Harbor Freight...>>>

Yes cash box slides in and latches. I s there a motor in the bill validator unit that sends it to the next unit? Would you have a pinout schematic for the small circuit board at the yellow lights? . I'm still thinking there's a fault,

Okay good...glad you can see the lever moves up, then comes down to latch onto the pin on the side of the cashbox.

Let's assume the motor is fine, after all, you hear it grinding away right?
The grinding sound are the gears.
There are many more gears than motors.
Might need a bit of "dry lube".
How are the gears at the back of the transport?
Are the white plastic teeth broken?
When you lift up the transport hood cover, is there anything stuck or caught in there?
I attached some photos below here of the gears inside of the bill acceptor unit.

As far as the bill bezel, you did NOT say whether or not if the lamps were any good.
Basically, there two holes for 2 lamp sockets, that each have two contact points on the edges of them.
The top pin of the 4-pin connector runs to the bulb contacts along bottom of the two lamps.
You should get the same readings as in the photos below from my multimeter, if your bulbs are good.

Click on pictures below to enlarge, if needed...>>>

Sorry for not getting back to you. the mech looks good ,sounds fine , notice the power supply plug going to the validator have to wiggle to get both led's on . It was easier to pull the bulbs and check them they both have resistance. I put a new switching power supply in thinking I was having a cap issue bit no change . Your thoughts. oh yeah no output voltage to the yellow panel lights.

Which power supply do you have?
The black plastic one, or the silver aluminum one?
When you wiggle the connector (BTW Is it the small white connector with the 2-row 6-pins?) to get the two LEDs to come on, does the yellow bezel light come on at all after closing the door?

Also, try a one-dollar bill...those have the small heads.

Has the black plastic box power supply. I bought a new 12v switching supply as I think the caps are going out. Still no change, Yeah the six pin wht connector is the problem I jammed a small piece paper wad in to hold it firm. leds on , no yellow lights when door closes. cant feed money in either. I'm wonder if that small logic boars that is inside the power supply box is bad? like to get my hands on another one

Have you changed any of the game chips etc....

When you do a game change you need a SET chip to activate the bill validator....

Reflow the solder joints on the DBV head. Take the board out and reflow the pins that connect the 2 harnesses on the left side of the board.

Thanks for the feed back . Problem solved. Here's the steps I would recommend If there are issues. When powering up the machine you should hear the gears turning If not bad motor or power supply,Check to make sure the 2LED lights are on (circuit board) If not your power supply is bad , Check that the yellow lights are on where you insert the cash. If not pull the The top part of the cash unit out , inspect the nylon gears to make sure they are not  stripped out. Pull the cash box out open the door . Now turn the gear on the cash box and you will see the mechanism at the top move. It has to go all the way up. Now reinsert the cash  box and be sure the lever latches. Now reinstall the top unit (be sure the lever is down) make sure it goes all the way back . Restart the machine the gears should sound differant because the bottom unit is sync'd . Just my .02

I'm surprised you had to manually turn the gears to get the stacker back up into its home position.
Normally, all you need to do is re-seat the cashbox back in firmly, and the motors will re-run the sequence.

Thanks for reporting what you did to fix your S+ bill acceptor.
I will now mark this Topic as "Solved".

What was the fix?

The stacker needed to be moved back home by hand (turning the gear)
