Bally 1111-10 Door Latch Adjustment

Hi! This is my first post here. I just got my first slot machine. It’s a Bally 1111-10 made in 1980 for Edgewater Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, NV. It’s a 5 cent, 1-3 coin, 3 reel, one line machine with 22 slot reels. Despite growing up in Las Vegas, this is the first slot machine I’ve ever touched! And my first pull came up three oranges!   I got this machine for nostalgia. Growing up there in the 70s and 80s, Bally EM slots were everywhere. Also, I’m an engineer and a nerd who likes to play with overly complicated old cantankerous machines.

It’s mostly working, with a few minor issues for me to have fun fixing. One of them is the door latch. I’ll be replacing the door lock cylinder because it’s pretty boogered up, but the issue I’d like to ask about is the latching mechanism. I can’t fully lock it even if I lean on the door. If I slightly loosen the screws holding the latch mechanism, then I can lock it. Are there any adjustments for the latch mechanism, or will I just need to do something like filing the hooks on the cabinet to give the sliding plate in the latch more clearance?

The three notched lock bar can be adjusted by loosening the two screws and the hex nut near the middle of the bar.>>> It’s part of the handle mechanism attachment.

Also, check the sliding lock bar and hinges to make sure there not loose.
