GK 3902 Confetti after Key22 and other odd behavior

Hi Everyone - Need some help from the community on this one. I am working on a customer's GameKing - 3902 running Base 526 and G2214; equipped with a TITO board, no coin or hopper. No Varta; Coin cell battery is at 3.09V; board appears to be in pristine condition; has optional sound board installed; No SIMMS; all DIP chips.

Symptoms: Customer's kid was playing the game and cashed out. The system printed a ticket and the game screen reads $0 in credits. They turned the power off and sometime later went back to play the game again. Turned the machine on and the game would not accept any tickets or money - BV would not take them in at all (like it was disabled). The owner opened the main door - reseated everything and closed it up. The Text at the bottom of the screen says 'Reset' and 'Closure M' which I would expect after resetting the game and opening and closing the main door. The candle is also blinking. However - the touch screen does not accept inputs; the deck buttons - with the exception of the Service button - don't work and the BV did not cycle.

Getting into the operator menu there are no tilts; the button diagnostics are fine; the touchscreen works; everything seems ok - but when the door is closed the game does not seem to fully acknowledge it. Main Door open message does go away (leaving Reset and Closure M) so the switch is working; and there are no door optics. The belly door switch is bypassed; as are the switches on the BV cash door.

One odd thing was when I went into the Printer diagnostics and tried to print a test ticket - the game displayed this message: 'Disabled During Cashout' - which I thought was odd since the game was cashed out. I reseated the paper in the printer - retried and got same result. So I decided to keychip the game.

I have several keychips - I decided to use Key 22; however I remembered after that you can't keychip with 22 without clearing the RAM. So I put key22 back in and did both clears and the keychip option. Put the base chip back in - no bent pins/chip is in correct orientation - and I get a confetti screen with a red blinking light on the MPU. Tried other keychips - they would not come up - Confetti screen with red blinking light on mpu.

Lastly - hearing a loud buzz coming from the power supply. Not sure if related - but I noticed it.

So - In order of importance:

1. Did I bork this 3902 board and how do I un-bork it?
2. Anyone see anything similar to the behavior I described where the door is closed but the game controls do not work and the BV will not ingest any tickets/bills? (The BV does cycle if I reseat it)
3. I have Key 17,22 and 40 - which one is the best for my configuration?
4. Did I run into a cascading set of problems caused by a failing/marginal power supply?

Can't afford to throw parts at it without someplace to start. Thanks in advance.

Check for bent pins on the MPU connectors.

No bent pins on either MPU connector.

Without any credits on the display, I just threw in a Key22 into my I-Game test machine, to test what someone told you about clearing RAM, and skipped any clearing of any ram or memory.
When the screen came up, I was in the Keychip options and was able to add another denomination...no problems getting in.
You don't need to clear anything to get into the Keychip Options and settings.

As far as the confetti screen, I don't think I've ever had that, but I know that it's happened to members before.
You may have to do a search of the forum topic for GK's.

Something you said about the LEDs on the MPU....that red one lit up...that would bring up a red flag in my book.
Either MPU board itself or software related.

So I got it figured out. Two issues.

Power supply was bad - which was causing the touch-screen issues.

There was a bent pin on the Base chip - impossible to see until I removed it and saw that one of the edge pins was bent over - that was causing the confetti screen.
