Trying To Further Identify This 809

I am attaching a photo of a Bally 809 that I have owned since 1993.  I have issues with it due to lack of play in my rec room; therefore, I would like to find a schematic for it, in addition to finding out perhaps when it was manufactured and from what casino the machine originated.

There is no I.D. tag on the machine.
The wiper boards on the reels are stamped 809 and what appears to be 6ZZG handwritten after that stamping.  It is difficult to tell if the 6s are Gs or the Zs are 2s.
The three reels all bear the stamping of 222.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Sorry, but I can't get the photo to stand upright as input onto this site.

809-6ZZG would be a "lighting" model built for the stardust casino.   Lightning models had reel tapes with 7s, single bars and bar/5 symbols only.

you have "triple bar" tapes, so your game has been assembled from parts.  Not a problem ... that's really common.

the 809-B is a standard bally triple bar machine and the documentation on https://bingo.cdyn.com/slots/ may match - or be very close - to what you have.  A good thing to check is the wiring on the reel 3 wiper board (since you can easily see it without unscrewing the board) and the payout counter disc (and the M-645-xxx number on it).

slotted metal index discs with just 222 or ZZZ stamped on it not too helpful in this case.  Probably easier to see if the tapes and index disc definition matches the 809-B ... but it doesn't matter unless the machine never worked and you need to rewire stuff (e.g. someone stuffed a reel mech from the wrong game into a cabinet and never made it work right).

For future photos, just edit the photo in your phone. Even if it's upright in your phone, just change the orientation to sideways, then restore it back upright and save.

Wolftalk and Shortrackskater, I really appreciate your responses.  Relatively new to this forum, so I am learning.  Since you both responded, is this the proper manner to correspond (through the original topic)?

Wolftalk, I had been wondering for 32 years as to the origin of that machine.  Might you be able to provide date parameters as to when they were built for the Stardust since there is no tag on the machine?  I just checked the payout counter disc and it is embossed with M645-11N.  So, with that information, should I still be looking at the 809-B schematic as a go-by?

Regarding the photo, it was saved upright to my computer and pasted from the PC directly.  How, on this website can orientation be changed?  I didn't see any icons to use.

You can personal message by just clicking on members profiles and look for "contact me," but yes this will be the repair thread for your machine. Now if a new problem arises in the future, start a new subject for it.
I think your computer is retaining the data embedded in the photo and passing it on here with regard to orientation. If you can, flip it sideways in your phone (even if upright) save it, then flip it back and save. I know this is a PITA! Or, your computer should have a photo viewer program built in. Try shooting the same way, move the photo to the computer and flip it sideways then upright and save. OR... many programs will remove all metadata (date, camera type, orientation, location, etc) with just one click!

the 809 machines started production in 1967, but stayed in production for a lot of years ... whatever the customer wanted was built.

the main list I have with model information doesn't have production dates.  However, the schematic for an 809-6ZZG was drawing number w-1046-1569.  Bally numbered the drawings in order as they made them, and other schematics with nearby numbers are for things like a model 1015 and 1034.  Those games were released in 1974/1975, so it's pretty likely that's the timeframe when the 809-6ZZG itself was produced.

what you have ... who knows.  Once the games reached the aftermarket - or occasionally when the casino wasn't getting the play they wanted - the pieces were mixed-n-matched to make other games.  Sometimes the selling casino removed their glass or reel tapes to unbrand the machine and the refurb folks had to swap in replacement pieces and make it work right (tapes and payouts match whatever glass they had says).

fwiw, to change a machine to a different game, you need glass and the reel tapes with the appropriate symbols.  Then you need index discs with the right number of stops (number of symbols positions on the tapes - 20, 22 or 25) and slot depths that match the tapes - easier for single line machines, harder for multiple pay line machines.  Finally, you have to wire the reel wiper boards to connect the right circuits for the symbols on the payline(s) and have the wipers jumpered together correctly. 

a refurb guy I knew in nevada had a press and he could cut his own index discs.  A couple people with access to a waterjet, laser cutter or other type of milling machine have made their own index discs.

the payout counter disc number is likely M-645-118.  The numbers are etched into the copper and occasionally are hard to read.  You can compare the trace pattern to the w-923-63.png file in the 809-B information.  I guess the file is small enough to post here ... note the drawing is for a 742A-180.  The payout discs were used in many different games but bally generally kept the wire colors the same (e.g. red/yellow wire 13 goes on the 2 pay trace), so the drawing/wiring is the same for other models.

so let's look at the slotted reel index discs.  Those have 222 stamped into them?  They shouldn't all be the same code tho.  The 809-6ZZG would have codes that were either something like 484-1187, 484-607, 484-608 or RC-L-1A, RC-L-2, RC-L-3. 

the reel tapes will have part numbers printed on the "underlap" ... the end of the tape that is underneath the top of the tape on the reel.  To see those you need to loosen the crimp with something like a thin screwdriver so you can remove the top of the tape from the reel tin ... pita, so don't do it unless the index discs can't be matched to something.
