Help resetting?
« on: April 21, 2025, 09:04:30 am »
My machines credits top out at 800. Well, I wom more than that and the machine locked up because it thinks the hopper is empty and the printer isn't working either. What can I do to fix this??

If you can put more coins in the hopper and then turn the key it should continue paying out.

I could be wrong but if If you don’t have a hopper or a printer I think your only option is to reset the machine completely by disconnecting the backup battery for several minutes, then re-connect it. This will require you to use a set chip to set up the machine again. Since you are asking this question Im going to assume you are not familiar with that process and I don’t recommend it really, it is complicated and requires a special eeprom.

Hopefully someone else will jump in with a better idea.

Chris

Was it paying out and then ran out of quarters?
It really hlps us help you if you give us these details. Keep in mind these games are basically computers that work on logic. There is very little smoke and magic (sometimes smoke unfortunately)
When you won, was it paying out coins and then ran out?

No it does not pay quarters since I got it day before yesterday.  It never did pay or print since I picked it up.

Did you turn the reset key after loading coins? And if so, did it try to pay and then stop?
Also, I am assuming this is a V7000 but without pictures I don’t really know.
Many V7000s were 5c machines.

The hopper should be trying to pay, I don’t see any coins on the coin shelf so you need to figure out why the hopper isn’t turning. Pull it out and inspect up under the knife and where the coins pass under the roller switch.
Verify that you can turn the motor. You will need to release the motor brake in order for it to turn.

Release the brake and grab the coin mixer and slowly rotate the coin plate.

Its a matter of detective work now. Your best bet is to figure out the hopper.

So I did some poking around. At first I didn't think the hopper was getting power. No lights. So I pushed the two buttons on the hopper and it ran backwards and forward just fine. So for whatever reason the computer is not talking or the is not enabled if that is possible. I don't know.

Yes.
And I would be irresponsible if I didn’t tell you that resetting a gamemaker can be a frustrating experience the first few times. You only get one shot, if you make an incorrect selection and save it your only option is to go through the process again.
Be sure to watch the video on Youtube and also read the posts at the top of Gamemaker topics regarding setting up. Its one of those things that the more you read about it and watch someone do it the more it will make sense when you do it.

You really need to figure out the hopper issue though. I don’t think you have a setup problem, you have a hopper problem.

Can you send a picture of the game board? Im still not sure we are dealing with a V7000. It should just pull straight out. Take a picture from above showing the entire board.

Chris

That is a V7000.
I can’t see details very well, but are all the dip switches in the off position? It looks to me like 1 and 2 might be up.
