Jackpot party 40x question (payout odds related)

Greetings all! Short time lurker, first time poster. 

Just picked up a 1999 williams jackpot party dotmation that's in fantastic shape.  .25 machine with Venetian las vegas tags. I've been searching the web for info on how to make it "looser" and hit more often.  It brings me to this forum but I'm not finding any specifics other than the 2 and 3 chip on the bottom board needs to be changed out to the new settings and the rom cleared as well as the jurisdiction updated(sorry if I mistyped any of that info). So I guess my question(s) is/are, how do I find out what chips I have in there,  how to i aquire different chips to adjust it to more fun home play as well as the cost.  I'm starting to think it might not be cost efficient but I won't know for sure until I can get steered in the right direction.  Hopefully some of you can steer me in the right direction.  I'll try to post a few pics when I get home.  Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Hello and welcome to NLG.
Hopefully someone will dotmation experience will jump in, Im actually interested in seeing the response. Games vary from different eras on how to adjust odds. Some machines you have to find a game prom specific to the odds, some games allow for odds to be adjusted in setup.

I just looked in the downloads section and there are par sheets for specific games. This insinuates the odds are set per game.

Ok so I checked out the info on it and it's all Greek to me lol.  So I see the machine pays out 50% of the time.  So I'm guessing that means it's low/medium volatility? From playing with it since Saturday night,  it seems to hit semi regulary with bonus rounds a less. I mean I'm satisfied with how it is but,  well you know.

To be honest, you will not notice much difference between payback percentages on those types of slots.  The only thing that changes is that you will hit the low/mid level payout like 10% more often (which is not much).  That is why you can have 2 machines next to each other having 87% payback and 95% payback and you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two, assuming they are both running the same theme.

I appreciate the feedback.  It's definitely set up way differently than the pachislo machines I was using but still lots of fun.  And it doesn't look or sound like it's worth the time money or effort to get it to payout more.

Rickhunter….can you verify that the odds are “lifetime to date”? Which answers why there are good spells and dry spells?
