Bally Alpha S9000 NVRAM battery low message after putting new batteries in

Hello,

i have a Bally Alpha S9000 with 317OS and a white gold progressive game. Some Background:

- Originally had an issue with NVRAM battery 1 when we got the machine. replaced battery, cleared, set up game, all was good
- few months later, something went wrong with NVRAM and it couldnt be cleared...and the MPU had to be replaced.
- bought a replacement MPU, swapped bios and jurisdiction chip into the board, it boots up fine, cleared and was able to get into the game set up

Current issue:
- even with new batteries, when we boot it, or are in the set up screen, it tells us NVRAM battery 1 and 2 are low.
- been through about 6 batteries just to test, all new, and still get the error


any help would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE - My father and I tightened the contact clips and got them firmly down. This resolved the battery issue and we were able to get into the set up without any NVRAM issues or errors.

im quasi new to this, do i need to close this post?

How did you tighten the contact clips?  I am wondering if I have the same issue.

Hi there,

we took a screwdriver and some plyers and applied a tiny bit of force on one end of the clips to force it down to ensure the end would contact the top of the battery
