Ultimate Party Spin stuck at FATAL FAULT (symlink for libvga.config fail)

Hey yall!

I'm back again, this time to fix our Ultimate Party Spin.  We had to turn it off for many months because it would start randomly rebooting and the reels would not stop spinning.

So today I turn it on and get a FATAL FAULT error.  I turn the attendant key and reboot and it shows up again.

I pull out the board and change the CR2477 3V battery.  Still FATAL FAULT.

I read elsewhere I am supposed to do a clear after a battery change, can someone advise on how to do that? 

I'm attaching pictures of my setup and cards, hope it helps.

You must also replace the CR2032 battery on the back plane. That may be the source of the Fatal Fault. Following battery replacement, you must do a clear. There are plenty of YouTube videos on doing a Ram clear on the S9000. That's the easy part. The challenge you face is restoring all the machine/game settings. Not an easy task if you haven't done it before. You should be able to find YouTube videos on that too.

For the 326 OS, I believe you need a 320 clear card.

Once you change the backplane battery, clear and reinstall the game settings and get it running, you can further troubleshoot if necessary, as your original problems sound like something more than just a low battery. Whenever you have a problem, be sure to look for an error message.

Ok I am back!

I have:

1. replaced the CR2477 3V battery 
2. replaced the CR2032 on the backplane
3. I checked the voltage of both using a voltmeter, both were ~3.2V
4. I got a 320 clear card (thanks again RB) and successfully cleared the machine (see "Same error as before" attached)
5. But when I put the AlphaOS + game card back in and reboot, I get the exact same error as before (see "Successful clear" attached)

Does it have something to do with the nvram?  Or maybe I need a new card for the OS?

Be sure you put the OS card in the top slot, game in the bottom.

I have the same machine and game software, but I'm running a different operating system, 336. I don't know if it has anything to do with the problem.

Thank you so much!  Yes the OS/clear card is on top.

I was reading https://newlifegames.com/nlg/index.php?topic=2314.msg116502#msg116502 which suggests the battery must be a CR2477N.  I just looked at mine and noticed it is a CR2477X.

Will get the right battery and hope that resolves things.

Ok looks like I had the wrong battery -- it should have been a CR2477N not a CR2477X.
