Hi there,

So with the words of wisdom from this group i have managed to get a PE+ up and running and a IGT S Slot Aussie version also up and going and ive now moved on to the next major project.

I bought a very rough machine recently, fluro lights work but nothing else - have been stripping it down and took out the MPU and woah..... batteries had exploded and leaked everywhere so the board is in rough shape. Now i can clean most of it up, resistors are corroded, PROMs have a couple broken legs that i can probably repair... GAHH.... but i imagine its pretty cooked - firing up the machine i get power to the MPU but nothing coming out and therefore no action on the machine at all. The seller did say that it worked 1 day many years ago, but then just stopped.

Ive read all the posts i can find, from what i can see this is one of the tougest machines to get up and running and spares are like hens teeth to find which brings me to my question.

Is there anyone out there in this community that still has any bits and peices lying about for an Aristocrat Atlas? im guessing at a minimum i need a new MPU board, but then i also appreciate the game PROMS are also likley cooked after all these years and being exposed to the batttery incident. Second question, can you reproduce the PROMs - i appreciate if mine are gone there is no chance of reading them, i also appreciate that therefore my specific game (Silver Cloud) is likley gone for the ages. But curious as to if.... and a big if.... can you put other game PROMs in the machine in the unlikley event they can be found?

If the answers are no... no and hell No.... then i guess this just becomes another peice of wall art, perhaps i can retrofit something else in the housing - but id like to get it working as intended as possible.

I have recently done a lot of research on these machines. And am currently looking into how the 5 reel version of this rom is programmed. I can determine if your ROMs are still valid and copy them to another chip.

If you have questions I maybe able to assist.

Better yet the actual EPROM for this is the current game I’m trying to fully reverse engineer back into its original assembly code.

I have never even seen a reference for the “SILVER CLOUD” machine online and what I do find is generally my own posts

Your four ROMs IC1,2,3,4 should be a 2708 EPROM and  will be labeled as 5P082/1-4. IC 19 is also another prom.

I can definitely verify all 5 of these chips for you.

I installed a screen and removed the reel mechanism in this machine just so I could have s9mething in the meantime, was a fun project to clean up but I'd love to get the original mech working.

I can verify the data on all 5 chips for you this will quickly narrow down if you indeed have corrupted data or if there is a board issue.  Rewriting the chips again will also extend their data retention lifespan by a few decades again too as they slowly leak charge over time and leads to data loss.

The 82s123 is a simple prom and should be fine as it is programmed by blowing internal fuse links. But best to know it’s still functioning correctly as it seems to handle address lines going the PIAs on the driver board.
