I've messed up huge

Was playing around with my new to me machine and ended up freezing it. Powered off and put in ekey and what I assume is the diag key and proceeded to boot up the machine. I was able to get it running but while doing so I believe I accidently wrote a file to the diag key as it will no longer work. I've attached a picture of both the diag usb and what it shows in the root directory on my computer. The reason I have found that the diag key no longer works is I was seeing what the 3rd usb drive was that came with my machine and I'm pretty sure I installed the software overtop of the old software with it as it will now longer boot up at all, starts out with avp screens and goes to a black screen with a "storage authentication failed" message and then reboots and does that over and over. So now when I try the ekey7 and the diag key I get the avp screen then black screen with "usb mass storage auth failed" and I'm sure that's because of the extra file on it.

Update, I’ve fixed the ekey by removing the extra file labeled igt. I’m able to get into the diagnostics menu now. Now I need to learn how to remove whatever I installed with booting it up with that other usb drive. It was in dos and it appeared to be trying to install the games.

You'll never have any problems if you follow two critical rules.

1.  Never plug an ekey into a PC...
2.  Never plug the diag USB key into a PC. 

The machine itself will never mess up the ekey or alter the diag USB key.   

And there's no reason to plug either one into a PC anyway.

Still having mega issues. Fixed the diag key and was able to get into the diagnostics menu. Decided to just go ahead and check 3 boxes in the “non volatile storage” tab and start fresh. That all went fine, it’s when I try to use the loader usb to load everything back in it starts, but gives tons of errors. When it finishes I remove the drive like it asks and reboot, and then same as before. Avp screen then black screen with the message Storage authentication failed!! Systen will retry in 10
seconds. I’m pretty sure I now have some expensive basement art now.

You uninstalled the OS and deleted all games.  You must now install an OS before anything else.

If you haven't completely wiped and reloaded an AVP machine before, you need to know how to do it correctly...

Required:

ekey7
USB diag key
Small (like 4GB, but larger ones can be used) USB flash drive formatted as FAT32 that has ONLY the OS loader file on it.  The recommended OS version is OS 014BOE.
Larger USB flash drive (64GB is usually plenty) formatted as FAT32 with your game loader files on it.

Follow the instructions in the attached PDF provided by Tito@home.  So it has the settings you enable if you have a Tito card, but those settings can be skipped if you don't have one.

Works perfectly every time.

Thanks everyone for the help. RB helped me out with this issue big time, and has it back to the os menu now. Now I need to figure out why my top display stopped coming on during all these issues. Too many power cycles I'm thinking.

It sounds silly, but the VGA/DVI cables are notorious for coming a little loose at the brainbox.   Often they aren't actually screwed down tight to the video ports, or at all!

That can cause display distortion, color distortion, as well as no video displayed at all.

So I'd make sure your video cables are secured tight from the top display to the brainbox as a first check.  Sometimes it can be as simple as that.  Not always, but I've had it happen plenty of times.   

Not to mention those cables are like 14 years old.
