Missing Something
« on: June 15, 2025, 04:06:08 pm »
Hello all, looking for some help. I am trying to get TITO to work on my bb3. I have both boards. TITO@Home and Bettor Slots. I have set the Bettor board uo on a bb1 without a printer and it worked great. So I feel like I know how to do it. However now I cannot get either board to work on the bb3. Could I be missing something on the machine itself? A jumper or something.I think I have the setup correct. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Something isn't set correctly in the machine settings.

Thanks, I have followed both of those and I am using those settings. I know the printer is working because I can print out a void/demo ticket. I just cant seem to get either board to connect or communicate with the machine. I am selecting Netplex for printer and all the other settings are just like in the instructions that are provided for both boards. I had no problems setting up the BB1 with the Bettor board. I just connected it and was able to add credits. The BB1 didnt have a printer though if that matters. Which is the only difference besides being a BB3 instead of BB1.

Once setup, do you get any tilts?  If you choose the wrong type or the printer isn't being seen as connected you should get a tilt after configuring the printer type in settings.

What make/model printer are you using?   And is it USB or Netplex connected?

I am not getting any tilt after programming. After setup I just close the door and once buttons are configured I am able to play the game. Of course I am not able to add credits or print a ticket. When pressing cashout out I get handpay and have to reset the machine. I do not know the brand of printer I will have to check when I get home. I do know that the printer plugs into the backplane with a red connector so I am assuming Netplex correct? It is not conneced with USB that I can tell.

If it "sees" the printer and you enable it to print vouchers it would get a tilt error.   Might review the system logs after you have the Tito configured and look for any messages about the printer at all.

If you don't get any credits when you press the service button, that indicates the Tito card isn't communicating.  Check your RS232 serial port connection and USB power plug to the Tito card and see that it's red LED is blinking when the machine is powered on.

If you press cashout and get a handpay, that's because the machine has no other way to pay you out.   Don't need to reset the machine though, just turn the jackpot key on the right side and it clears the handpay so you're at 0 credits again.    I have Tito@home cards on both my BB2 and BB3 and they work just fine on both, no real difference in settings between them.

Do you know what JUR chip is in the machine?  Some JUR chips can also cause issues.

What is considered a tilt error. And I should get the error if it is able to print? Is the error in the right hand upper corner of the setup screen? I am getting power to TITO boards lights are flashing or are lit. I have tried both boards in RS232 in comm 1 and 2 along with setting them up in comm setup for both comm 1 and comm 2  You are correct i guess i didnt mean reset I just turn the key and lose the credits. How do I check the system logs? Thanks for your time and patience.

AFT setting shouldn't matter.

COL JUR chip is good.

But I did get a BB3 that came with BOTH Netplex and USB connected.   Which made the printer not function at all.

If there's a USB cable off the printer, you might look and see if it's actually connected by a Netplex connector where 6 or 7 wires are actually connected, or if it's only getting power from it.

If it's only getting power from Netplex, then the USB cable needs to be connected to any open USB port on the backplane, they're all interconnected.

If it doesn't work now, it won't break it more if you plug in the USB cable and power the machine on to see.   :)

My guess is something else is going on.  The Tito settings look fine.

But the fact that you can't add credits with the service button is concerning.   You should be able to set no printer enabled, set print vouchers to "no" and still be able to add credits by pressing the service button.  "Free play mode".

If you haven't already, you should join the FB group for Tito@Home.   https://www.facebook.com/groups/513521606717680

Brian Hinkley builds/sells the Tito@Home modules and responds to posts (as do other members of the group) with suggestions for those having issues.

If you post the pics of your connections, config screens, and pics of the connection from your printer to the machine (and printer make/model).   They should have some other ideas to help locate the problem here.  My BB3 is setup just as yours and works normally.

Kind of hard to never need to look at anything on FB.   Create an account with a throwaway email address you rarely use.  Or create a new gmail account just as a throwaway.   Then sign up on FB with it, and put in minimal info, can even be all fake.  lol

Then you'll at least be able to join the numerous slot machine groups so you can post questions and reply to them as well as search posts, good chance "someone" has had the same problem in the past and you can see what the problem was.   Lots of experienced folks in the slot groups that might know what the problem is.  Especially those in the Tito@Home group!   :)

Update, I figure out the problem and all is good. The comm ports need 5v islotaed power to work. On this new to me machine this connection was unplugged. Found a connector laying loose and plugged it in now everything works great.
