Bally S6000 - Hopper won't pay but works with the self test button

Hello,

I have a hopper issue on my S6000.
I cleared two times and same problem.
I removed the battery...waiting a few minutes...another clear ram...same issue.

If I press CASH OUT, I can heard the hopper trying to pay, but no coin go to the tray. Also if I use the 04d hopper test menu. Exactly the same.

But if I press the button at the top of the board, It works and the coins goes to the tray.

Do you have an idea ?

Is it running in reverse when you cash out?? Try swapping the motor leads, or bypass the door optics to see it.

Sounds like it works with the door open but not when its closed.
Is something blocking the coin path out.....

just speculation - I don't own any Bally.

I have a feeling it's the hopper's board that's the problem.

Do you think this is possible?

Hi,

I found an Alpha S9000 hopper, and it works on my S6000.

I started by testing the S6000 hopper control board on the S9000 hopper, and the board works, and the tokens are dispensed.

I ran a lot of tests and finally concluded that the problem was with the motor.

I put all the parts (except the motor) from the S6000 hopper on the S9000 hopper, and it works.

If I do the opposite, it doesn't work.

I disassembled the motor and the gearbox. No problem. I cleaned the brushes and applied electrical contact cleaner, but I still have the same symptoms as in my videos.

There is carbon dust between the copper segments on the commutator and burrs on the copper segments. Use a razor blade and carefully scrap out the carbon dust and burrs on the copper segments.

I did exactly what he said, using a scalpel and electrical contact cleaner, and the motor works perfectly.

There weren't many tokens in the hopper for the video, but by filling it correctly the tokens fall normally.
