Advantage 5 Rawhide software mod

Picked up this machine and it had a new "brain" put it in.  Bill acceptor removed,  ticket printer apparently disabled, set on credit mode only (by hitting change button i think). Looked at the box that's the new brain and it has no labels (just a little white box with a usb cable for power and another cord going into a circuit board).  Not sure if it's a home-made creation or not. Machine functions great but there are some settings that are unadjustable (volume, payout %, denom, and lines played). The machine has 30 paylines on it but only 25 are available with the current set up.  Also the display on the lcd only shows payouts with the lowest credits played. I dont know if that is the way the machine came or if that's because of the little white box.
So any advice or pointers on this would be appreciated.  I did get the manual printed off,  but like I said with the brains being added on, I dont know if there is any way to get into that to adjust or if there are other options available.
