Need help with "ENABLE GAMES" error on IGT G23.

Newbie here!  Thanks in advance for the help!

I've had my G23 machine for about 4 years. It has about 12 games on it. Never had any issues.  When we moved, it sat about 9 months completely powered off.  Now when switching on, I get the POST beep.  I get the 7 or 8 seconds of AVP startup music on the colorful AVP screen.  Then I get a gray box that says "CONFIGURATION VERIFICATION REQUIRED.  ENTER THE EKEY OR OPERATOR MENU.  NO GAME ENABLED."  I replaced all three coin batteries, but still getting the same error.

Questions:

Which eKey do I need?
Is eBay the only place to pick it up?  Do members here sell them off?
Any other USB devices I may need (like a diagnostic key)?
What would I need to load more games, and where's the best place to buy them?

Need ekey7. Ebay or posting a WTB ad here. 

Diag key is good to have on hand when needed. Those are cheap.

Another question, are there different diagnostic keys?  I see some that are 14-9, and others 14-21.  What is the difference.  How would I know which one I need?

Also what is Family 14 vs Family 20?  I'm just wanting to make sure I end with the correct key and USB for my G23 machine. Thanks for the help.

14-09 supports 2.0, 2.5 & 3.0 brain boxes. 14-21 supports 3.0 & 4.0. Either should work.
Family 20 is the Ascent platform. Some people install it on 3.0 AVP boxes with limited success.
I do not recommend it. Save the frustration and stick with Family 14.

So, still a little confused.  When you say stick with Family 14, would that be the 14-9 or the 14-21 diagnostic key?  Or if I'm understanding correctly, either should work, correct?

YES, either will work in a 3.0.

*** UPDATE: a member here pointed me to an eKey.  Thanks, Rob in AK for the connection.  I used eKey7 with the diag key and got access to enabling games once more.  At this time, we are back in business!  Anyone know of a few more games I could add relatively inexpensively?  I don’t know how any of that works yet, so I’m not willing to spend many hundreds of dollars on that just yet. Thanks everyone.

Also I’d like to note that I did initially have an issue with the eKey not being recognized. The screen would say “ Greater security clearance is required to make changes.” and I couldn’t enable games or adjust pay tables. But I wiped the volatile memory, and all was good.

Glad to see your machine is back up and working. Member RB is the go to for games. Its a pretty simple process to install additional games.

Thanks, Rob.  I deleted a few messages to clear up some space.   Maybe I’ll get with RB for some games.  Ideally, I’d love to purchase a whole drive of titles, but at the moment my wallet is telling me to just grab a couple!
