Bally Series V-1292-1
« on: July 02, 2025, 10:40:20 am »
I am Working on a Bally V Series 1292-1 Draw Poker machine. The Screen shows the date of 1985, Probably the software date. I got the Machine Running for the Most part. There is no Door Latch / Locking mechanism on the Door side. How hard will it be to find the Door Latching parts for something this old? Occasionally during game The screen will start to jump vertically and then it says Door open. I have used CRC Electronic Spray Cleaner on the V-hold, Horizontal Hold, Red Blue Green adjustments to remove any oxidation and Now I Mostly have a Readable Screen for a few Minutes then the Door open goes off. I am looking for any pictures of the Lock set up, any Cams, ect. The Customer is only interested in getting this one working 100%. I am trying.

Thank you,
Dennis

If Im correct this falls under the generic umbrella of V1000 machines. Does the machine have 3 circuit boards?
If so, consider yourself lucky that it works, take the win on that.

We would need to see pictures of the case, door and where the lock mechanism goes to answer your questions about that. Those probably had mechanical door switches so you could easily trace the wires and find the fault. Replace switch, etc.

Chris, it is the Same Machine Theme that you had Posted about a While Back. It is a Draw Poker (Jacks or Better) 5 Coin machine.

It has been a long time since I tried to overcome a Bally V1000, but yes, I work on many poker machines from the 80s.
Those 3-stacks have a reputation. Like I said, its a good thing the computer boards boot up, hopefully the game will provide years of entertainment once you find the problem with the door switch circuit.

As far attachments, look underneath the box you are typing in and you’ll see green text that says Attachments. Click on that to expand the options. From there you select the images on your local drive.

1. Each image must be 1MB or smaller. I use an app called photo compression. Others email pictures to themselves which typically optimizes them.
2. Up to 5 pictures
3. Total attachments must be under 5MB total

Usually the V1000 series is a 4 card stack and 3 card is a V2000 model.

1. All computers have built in photo viewers. There should be an option to reduce the size.
2. On your phone, e mail the photo to yourself. Most phones have an option to reduce the size, but don't go too small.

Holy terror from hell Batman! As if it isn’t difficult enough to figure out one board, Bally went in for 4. Let me guess:
1. Computer board
2. Graphics
3. Audio
4. Bad joke

Run Away!! There is no way to repair that board set unless you have a Bally certified 4 card rack bench tester.
Let them that don't want any, have memories of not getting any.

Use an Off the shelf lock. The arm simply turns up and in the process lifts the rail. You will need to measure but many machines use 7/8”, some use 1-1/8”.
