WMS Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers Error Code "System Halted"

Hello...looking for help to resolve the error code I am receiving on the screen when turning on WMS Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers slot machine. Had an issue and read that the 2032 batteries probably need to be changed. Didn't read all the way through the recommendation and removed both batteries at the same time when I should have only removed 1 battery at a time. Now receiving the error code "System Halted" when booting up the machine.  Can anyone guide me as to repairing this error and make the machine active once again? Thanks!

Now you'll have access to all sorts of manuals, diagrams, schematics, etc.

NVRAM is corrupted when you replace the batteries.

All you need is a clear card (which anyone with a WMS machine should always have) and boot the machine with only that card in the OS CF card slot.
That simply boots an OS with the clearing code, and resets the machines NVRAM and tells you to power off when it's complete.

Then you just replace the original OS and Game CF cards and power on.

It will reload the OS and Game, and you just set the game options again and done.   Machine is as it was.

There are many youtube videos on clearing and reloading/reconfiguring your machine so all is normal again, as long as you have (or get) a clear card for your machine.
If you need one post a WTB in the Classifieds section.   There are many who can sell you one if you need.  About $30 I'd guess is a typical price for a BB2 clear card.

I apologize but I am not a seasoned person on the logistics. What is a WTB? And I would need a BB2 clear card?

To answer your question:
1. WTB is Want to Buy. If you go to forum topics you will see a section for Classified ads. Its where you post Want to buy, want to sell or Want to Trade.
2. A clear card is a component used to reset slot machines. They are used to reset the machine after changing backup batteries, add games,etc. It varies by game and era.

I will recommend that you find the cover lid for the MPU.  The cooling on the video card is severely compromised if you don't have the cover as air doesn't flow across the heatsinks inside the mpu as designed.  The video card is a common failure point on these, and not having the cover worsens the issue.
