Bally 809-ZH - need a schematic

Sister "gave" me a Bally 809-ZH (brother-in-law passed :-( ) that doesn't work so well .. some circuits not performing as they should, particularly top lighting array.
Need a schematic if anyone has a copy. Or even an operator's manual would be nice.

Look in the NLG File System section under Bally EM for the manual.  There is just one manual and it covers the series but takes a little time to study and get the hang of it.

Pay close attention to the relay switch stacks.  The contacts tend to get oxidized (especially if it sits unused for a time) and need to cleaned to make good contact.

the manuals are also there ... generally you want the 2400 manual since it supercedes the 400 manual, but there's sometimes still useful info in the earlier manual

the lamps are often just the sockets.  If the lamp is dim and changes if you wiggle it, remove the lamp and when the power to that socket is off, use a small screwdriver to "hook" the middle tab and lever/pry it to bend it towards you.  Don't be timid ... it'll spring back quite a bit after you bend it.  The goal is to exert more pressure on the lamp tip.

also swirl the lamp tip a bit on any convenient metal surface to reshape the cone if there's a divot in it.

after doing those if the lamp is snugger in the socket but it's still flaky, you need to scrub the inside of the socket a little.  The pinball guys sometimes use a cleaning rod (pinball resource has them) or a dremel with an appropriate wire wheel will work.

if it's not the lamps, it could be the wipers on the odds unit.  Post picture of the wiper side of that unit.  If there's black crud on the rivet, you probably want to remove it.  A scrub pad and isopropyl alcohol will take care of it.

if you remove the wipers, hold the ratchet/gear on the other side so it doesn't move away from the unit frame.  If it moves too far, the reset stop will disengage and you'll need to reposition the ratchet and rewind the center torse spring a couple of turns.  Test the wipers reset from 1 step up and can step all the way up (4 steps).

note the wipers can mount on the ratchet shaft two ways, so reset the unit first and mark a wiper finger and the contact plate so you know which way it goes.  If ya don't or you clean off the mark, the unit diagram is on the above site so not a big deal.

But I believe it's the electrical for the array - not even one lite works.  So I just gotta do some troubleshooting.
