Need help with IGT 20 No Games Enabled

I recently bought an IGT 20 AVP 3.0 Davinci Diamonds machine, but it had a bad yellow tint color issue on the main display. I bought and installed a new video card which fixed the color issue, but I created a different serious issue: now I get the screen messages 'Configuration verification required', 'Enter the eKey or operator menu', 'NO GAME INSTALLED'. I just received an eKey7 and a diagnostic but they don't seem to help, nothing happens when I insert the eKey. It appears to verify the eKey, but then....nothing, the message remains. I can't enter or make any changes. So what am I missing? Did I totally screw up?

Do you have a key that goes into the right hand side of the cabinet? Also, are you plugging the ekey in behind the little door on the brain box? If you turn the key you will get into the menu, and the ekey unlocks all the options in that menu. Then you go to setup, game, enable disable. From there, touch "slot", under slot themes, choose your game (on the left), under "enable" on the right, touch view. Choose the payout percentage you want for your game, higher percentages pay out more I believe, and then choose what denominations you want. AKA, 1 cent, 5 cent, etc. When you are done, touch the "enable selected game' in the bottom left, then "save" in the bottom right. Then back and exit, remove ekey, close all doors, and you should be good.

Thanks for the walkthrough! I had the eKey and diagnostic keys plugged in correctly, but - heh heh - I sort of forgot to remove the paper next to the keys. Once I did that everything worked. Only now I have another issue...I got my game back but now I can't play it. I had received this machine for free play, I pushed the Cash Out button and it would add $100 to the credits. Now it doesn't do that, I have 0 credits so can't play the game, and I don't know the settings I need to get that back.

Cash out shouldn't add credits, the service button should. Give that a try, the candle will light up but you can press the button again to turn it off

Nope, neither button works for getting free credits. I think it must be a set up setting, but...which? How?

It's unlikely you configured the COMM and other settings for the Tito card to work.  That's the only thing that can add credits when you press the service button.

Welp...thanks, but nothing has worked. I followed instructions to no avail. I'm not sure what TITO is (I know, Ticket In/Ticket Out), is that some kind of aftermarket device? Because I don't have an aftermarket anything. So, I'm still lost. But thanks for the guidance! Wish it had worked. I have a call in to the seller where I bought this machine, hopefully they can help me on the phone.

It's possible they Tito card was connected to COMM2.  So if it isn't working, you can try setting COMM2 and see if it works.

The Tito card is just a tiny circuit board that's connected to your backplane RS232 port with a small connector (if you have a V2 G20 where the main board has a yellow handle on it).  If you don't see a yellow handle on the main board, then you have a V1 model.   If you have a V1 model it doesn't have an integrated RS232 port.  So it will have a small daughtercard connected to the backplane which has that small connector on it that the tiny circuit board is connected to.

The only other connection the Tito card has is a power cable from the same small circuit board with a USB plug on the other end that's connected to any USB port inside the  machine to power the Tito card.

That's it.   Without a Tito card your bill validator can accept cash, and if you have the printer installed/enabled, it will print tickets.  But the bill validator won't accept the tickets it prints.  The Tito card handles that, so it prints tickets with a basic coding, that it can read with the bill validator so it will accept tickets it prints.    As well as enable the auto credit function so when you press the Service button it adds credits to the machine automatically.

But yes, whoever sold you the machine would know exactly what was in there and what settings you need so the Tito card will add credits again when you press the service button.  You don't have to use a bill validator or print tickets.  You can always set it up to just add credits, and also so it just does a hand pay if you press the cashout button.   It's only a few settings required, but they of course have to be correct for it to work.  Be sure and document what they are if you need to set this in the future!

I must have a V1 because I do have a small daughterboard plugged into the RS232 connector on the backplane. There's a tiny circuit board attached to the side of the I/O housing that has a red connector with two thin wires (red/black) input, and two thin wires (red/black) output. The wires in are coming from a USB connector on the backplane (power, I suppose) and the wires out go to a connector on the right side of the daughter board. (see photo)

I'll try setting it to COMM2 tomorrow.

That would be it.  But if it's in that top connector though, that's COMM1.  So that's what you set it to.

Make sure after you set COMM1 in protocols and enabled it, that you also enabled Legacy Bonusing as in the guide.
And that your machine is all closed up so no switches are showing as open.

The Legacy Bonusing option being enabled is what adds the credits when you press the service button.

If something isn't set right with the RS232 settings in Protocols, you'll usually get a tilt error when you close up the machine. 
But if you don't have Legacy Bonusing enabled, it wouldn't tilt, but the function to add credits wouldn't work.

I found and was able to enable legacy bonusing which now lets me receive credits so I can play the game. However...

When I first received this machine, if I pressed the service button is would add $100 credits to the game, or push the cash out button it would zero out my game credits. The Service button now works again, I get credits, but when I push the Cash Out button I get a handpay splash screen message (see photo attached) with its attendant obnoxious music/noise/drumbeat but then nothing else happens, the splash screen will display for a few seconds then go away, then come back, then go away...it's locked in a loop that can't be broken except by turning off the machine.

Somehow I need to find the original combination of settings that will allow the machine to work like it did initially before I messed with it. Any ideas? I've called the seller but it goes to voicemail then disconnects. I'll keep trying til I get through.

Ya, you have to enable the printer and set it to print vouchers in the settings as outlined in the Tito Setup document.  If you have a working bill acceptor, also set it to validate using the method of "system", so the Tito card will be what validates the vouchers it prints that are inserted, and set the option to accept vouchers as well.   Then any voucher you print when you press cashout will be accepted by the bill validator just as if it was cash.

Otherwise it has no method to pay you out so it always goes to handpay when you cashout.

You don't need to print and accept vouchers if you don't have them or don't want to.  As it is now, if you click cashout, it must handpay since there's no hopper or printer enabled.   So on a handpay, you simply turn the jackpot key on the right side of the machine, that clears the handpay displayed, and there are zero credits on the machine again.   Add credits with the service button again whenever you want.

Actually I figured it out and all is good now, I'm so embarrassed. To get rid of the 'Call Attendant' all I have to do is turn the key on the side of the machine and it clears it....like, duh! How many times have I seen them do that at a casino?

So my settings are good as of now. I want to thank you again for your help. How did you learn all this stuff?
