Bally Duallo (L1) Power Supply Issue

Hello New Life Games community, this is my new post, my name is Mary, I am a new slot technician in Tanzania.

We have couple Bally Duallo (L1) and one has a faulty power supply, I attached below couple of pictures.

Can you recommend me please common issues and fixes for this type of power supply ?

I'm not familiar with those power supplies but hopefully another member will chime in soon.

Welcome to NLG
I am not a trained technician but if I had to troubleshoot one of those I would start by crying. After that:

1. Check the condition of the traces and solder joints, especially around the capacitors
2. Check the capacitors ESR rating with an in-circuit tester if you have one…they would have to be far out of specification for the board not to work but you have to check them.
3. Check all of those transistors for shorts
4. That type of PS often has an IC that monitors and controls the switching. Unless you find a datasheet on the IC I don’t think you can test it. If the PS doesn’t work at all you will probably have to find and replace that IC.

Please keep us posted. That is a challenging project.
