IGT AVP G23 MLD "tiny" VGA Patch cable
« on: August 06, 2025, 01:52:56 pm »
Can anyone tell me if I must have this exact cable or if I can use just a regular VGA cable to do the same thing. The whole thing seems odd to me. Why would you need to do this? But my G23 came with 50lb of players club crap in it and once removed I am short of this cable.

I don't know why you couldn't use a longer one but it is needed to connect the front and rear panels of the multi layer display.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

I was thinking the same thing but part of me was thinking couldn't they have done that internally? Maybe its some special cable or something. But thanks for the insight.

If you remove that looping VGA cable, the MLD display will function just like a standard display, the front LCD will display, but nothing will display on the rear LCD screen.

So all standard screen games will display just fine.

I replaced mine a few weeks ago just because the original one had a plug that wasn't seating properly and colors were flickering a bit on the rear display in games.

While you "can" use any VGA cable, I got a 1.5ft one so there's not a bunch of extra cable in the cabinet.   The one below worked perfectly.
