Mills Model M? Need Glass & Info
« on: August 21, 2025, 07:41:54 am »
Hello,
I'm looking for information and the "pay line" reel glass for this slot machine.
The reel glass is cracked and I cannot find any online.
From research online, I believe it's a Model M but I would like to verify that.
How can I verify the date of manufacture?
The top glass has Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines ships listed, which puts the earliest year at 1972.

Any help would be appreciated.
-John

 :NLG_WELCOME:

Yes that's a Mills M - I have a manual for it I can send to you.
Does it work and pay out?
For the glass, I'd normally move this to our NLG Classifieds but there's only a few members here that deal with true mechanical slots. Yours mechanism is mechanical other than the solenoid for the handle release. I'm not sure what that jackpot window had previously. There might have been something there! I can't see any indication of what the jackpot amount was. Maybe it was a dinner?  :rotfl:
I'll PM another member and see if he'll chime in.
Also check this website. They deal with mechanical slots exclusively and there will be some more information on that machine, which shares basically the same mechanism as many other Mills models made much earlier. If the site requires a passcode, just PM me and I'll send it to you.

johnnyatari,

Yes, that machine is an "M" Mills machine.  As for the year, that is a bit tough to pinpoint.  It could be as early as 1968.  Sometimes you may find a date on a casting or two.

The pay glass.  I have probably seen 3 of them pop up on eBay in the last 3-4 years.  So, you may want to keep an eye out there.  If you are in a hurry, you can contact Squires & Corrie, but it will be $$$.

I would have liked to see how the jackpot would have been installed and worked as they were original produced without them.  The "Attendants" would normally pay the jackpots beyond the 20 coins.
