Help activating Free Play on a G23 with AVP 3.0 running Ascent OS and FAM 20

Creating a separate thread for this topic.  I have a 660 box with AVP 3.0 running the Ascent OS with FAM 20 that I had working well with the Free Play option from my USB TITO (Epic 950) but after swapping boxes I cannot get the Free Play to work to give me credits when pressing the service button in a game. 

The bill validator is Netplex (not USB) and not compatible with the Ascent OS so my only way of getting credits is to use the free play option which was working.  If anyone knows how to enable free play on Ascent with AVP 3.0 any help would be appreciated.  The jumpers are set in the Free Play position on the TITO but legacy bonusing is not available in the setup menus.  I can print test tickets in the setup menu and the TITO is associated with COMM 1, Port 1.

When you swapped boxes, you did boot with the fam20 diag key and in the clear menu, do an ultimate master reset to clear the NVRAM and Safe Storage?

If you don't, and that fam20 box was in your machine before.  It will remember some settings so it may still boot.   But if you didn't clear NVRAM and Safe Storage correctly after you put the fam20 box in there.  Things won't work right, sometimes it will boot but give strange error messages until you do the clear and repeat machine setup again.

I've never seen Legacy Bonusing not show up in the setup menus under Protocols on fam20.  It's in the same place that it is for fam14 in the settings.

I did use the correct key and cleared the cabinet memory prior to reinstalling the box but I did not complete a master reset.  I thought that a master reset would wipe my drives but is that not the case?

The Ultimate Master reset won't clear the drive. 

Whenever I switch boxes that's what I use to clear.

I did end up trying the Master Reset as well which did not fix the problem so I started with a clean install and now I am not having any issues.  I noticed that a few other settings seemed to be off as well after swapping the box back so I think the clean install was the way to go this time.
