I have a Ballys 5500 and would like to restore it so it looks nice and modern again.

My problems are the following:

Currently, it plays with 2 coins and also with 1. I would like to change that so that it only plays with one coin.

Second

On one screen, it dispenses 2 coins as a free spin, but it should only be one.

Third
I would like it to only pay out with 3 identical symbols, and not 5 coins for 2 symbols and 20 or 30 for 3.

Fourth

The credits aren't working. The excess coins are dispensed after the next spin. If possible, I would like to save this as a credit on the machine and only pay out at the touch of a button.

Fifth
I would like to change the images on the reel. I'm a graphic designer, so that's no problem. I'd just like to know if I have to remove the entire wheel or if there's a trick. I'd hate to break anything; here in Germany, it's almost impossible with spare parts.

Are the 5500 and S 5500 identical? Sorry for the questions, I really have no idea about this. I'll have to learn it myself because the nearest person who knows is 800 km away.

When you get a jackpot win and the music is playing, insert the key into the jackpot reset switch on the outside above the pull handle and turn the key. That will clear the music. Sounds like your reel strips are out of position or you have one strip that has slipped on the reel.

Okay, cool. I then got the machines so that the locks are deactivated. The first one on the outside is simply not there and on the circuit board there is just the lock and a screw in it.

Need a picture of the award glass.
1. To change it from a 2 coin machine to single coin game only, you would have to find a one coin game and change the glass, strips, and chips. Can't change your current game to single coin only.
2. Need to see your award glass
3. Game pays out according to the awards on the shown on the award glass. Can't be changed.
4.To get wins to go to credits, press the cash/credit button once. The cash/credit button is lit, wins will go to credits.
5. To remove the reel strips, the ends of the strips are usually held together with 2 sided adhesive tape. separate the ends of the strip and the reel strip is just held in place with friction. There is nothches in the reel strips edges to properly align the strips with the reel cage they are mounted on. The cage has locatator pins . Look closely as you remove the strips.

What do you mean by  is there software for it? What do you want to do ? What software do you want?

SMI 7019 is 2 coin California Dreamin.

If you want something different, you have to buy a game kit that fits that cabinet that has glass strips and chips, or clone a game chip and make your own glass and strips.

What are you trying to accomplish?

So, actually, I'd like to adjust the chance of winning. There are also too many free spins. So I'm looking for a way to change that somehow. Here in Germany, they say you need software for that, but I doubt such an old device can do that.
--I would also like to change the images of the rolls, either to the original or to my own motifs, that's not a problem, I can do that as a graphic designer.

You can change the SMI personality chips U18 & U20. Currently you have SMI 7019  93%.  You can change those chips to a different percentage which will change the odds. You may be able to get SMI 7016 86%, 7017 89%, 7018 91%. Not sure which are available.

The problem, however, is that you can also win credits or coins that way. I'm more likely to lose than win.

Your reel strips might be in wrong order. Are they numbered or lettered to identify position, ABC or 123?

As far  as credits or coins for winning combination you would change you credit limit in 11d option 56 to credit limit you desire.
