I don't know about the history of this machine, except that it was in a place where smoking was constant. Look at the thick smoke sludge.

63-2 and 41-2 go to the jack pot meter
63-2 and 70 go to the door interlock
63-2 and 65-2 go to the cash box meter

Also the bell is missing, I will look for that wiring next, I know that a 20 wire is one of them..

Overall, it's all complete, easy peasy, no cut wires,.

I looked at the original docs and that's not necessarily true.  The tape/index disc set you have results in an 84.15% payback machine.  There's no rule about the denomination ... the casino could have that payback in any denomination they wanted.

while it may be that percentage was the default for dimes, unlike some other 809's they didn't specifically say that on the paperwork.  If you have a game with those tapes/discs that runs on nickels, the operator was in a competitive/locals market.  If it runs on quarters, the operator was a cheapskate since an 88.85% payback was available with the 759/643 tape/disc setup on reel 2.

personally, I'd avoid dimes if you can as they are more trouble-prone due size and wear causing more jambs.

This slot machine takes 4 meters. Two in the reels, one for the winner, one for the cash box. That's a lot of meters to source. Thankfully, I found  a "lot" of meters for sale, which comes out to be super cheap.

I don't understand why some bozo would damage the trim. Now I need to locate another one.

The cabinet is in excellent condition, no one has buggered it up. I have a bit of separation and it's being repaired. The shell, door frame is nice also, overall its one of the better ones to be cleaned up. Here in Alaska, these slot machines are rare, we grab what we can.

My intention is not to make this look new, I am as always cleaning off the grime, dirt, etc to function 100%. It is 60+ years old and I want to keep it that way.

This is the repair, gluing the cabinet. I will work on the exterior of the cabinet when the repaired are completed. I have to repaint the upper inside cabinet, its taking a beating.

Found the top glass, and the reel glass. It is 100% correct for the nickel payouts. I found a nickel 809-ZZB and I verified the payouts.

Cabinet wiring is excellent, the meters and bell needs to be installed. I cleaned up the wiring harness, everything.

More wiring.
The upper cabinet is cleaned up, I touched up the interior matching with the original color. the cabinet is clean, I got rid of the nasty grime. Still has the old looking charm without the grit, grime, stink.
The tower light is excellent, it's really in good condition. I need to replace all of the bulbs inside of the machine. Right now, I am working on the cabinet, interior, wiring. I haven't started on the reels, hopper, upper unit and that's the most time consuming.

Why is it that they oil, grease the s*it out of the handle release mechanism. Everyone that I have serviced has been dripping with oil.
