Turn the jackpot reset key once....you may get another message onscreen.

I turned once and now it says “press and hold test switch for 2 - 3 seconds”.

Now the screen went black while I was waiting.

So then I turned the jackpot reset one time and nothing. Then I pressed and held the test button and nothing. So I turned the machine off, then turned it back on and the colors didn’t scroll on the screen this time, it just stayed black. Turned the machine off, pulled the mpu board and re-installed. Turned the machine on and then the colors scrolled this time but when they were done the screen went black, I didn’t get the error message this time.

Does anyone have any idea what my next move is?

A little more info.
The red light on the game board next to the 5 yellow/green lights never lights up after the machine is turned on. However the far left red light blinks occasionally after the machine is turned.
The screen always goes black during/ after the blue screen, doesn’t do it during/after any other color. It occasionally goes black after the first time the blue screen appears but that only seems to happen when I’m pushing down on the cover switch to simulate the cover is shut.  Other times it might be after the 5 or 6th time the blue screen cycles.
Also, how many wires are supposed to go to that cover switch?  Right now there are 2 toward the front and none toward the back. I do see another connector close by that’s just hanging there. Should that be plugged into the rear of the switch?

Turn the power switch OFF, slide out the MPU.
Take CLEAR, HI-RESOLUTION photos of the battery areas.
Also of the chips or the labels on the long memory sticks called SIMMs.
Somebody WILL spot something and advise you what to do next although Chris-socal  already suggested in Reply#15, what you should do with your monitor.

The board booted when you first started this topic. Unless you've played with the roms or simms I think it's good. This sounds like your monitor died.

All I did was carry over the Simms and the ram. I just want to confirm that pxlf3 should be j6 slot and that pxlf4 should be in j8 slot.
I will then contact Chris-socal. We pm’d each other and he wanted me to wait to make sure the machine appeared good before he started in on the monitor.

You never saw this game actually fully boot-up right?
I'm just wondering...for my records...what SB chip do you have installed...SB100042 or SB100043?
Also, the other chips...need to see if you have the right software.

The slots for the pxl simms makes no difference.  All 3 are same.  All others must be in correct slot.

You are correct, I have not seen this game actually boot up.
I’ll send more pictures of the chips.

Here’s the additional pictures. The simm was under the multimedia lite board. I don’t know why game chip 1 is like it is.
