Trip to pick up a 809-ZZB Bally slot machine.

My round trip adventure started in Meadow Lakes where I live, to North Pole Alaska. The road is a highway, except a lot of it is just a two lane rough road. My driver is a clone of the Fast and Furious race car in a downpour 80% of the time. 10 hours round trip, 650 miles round trip, to pick up this Bally slot machine. The seller lives in a mobile home that seen better days, and a small garage. We didn't have time to stick around so we grabbed the slot machine and back on the road we went. Basically we only stopped for fuel, and bathroom breaks, on the trip except I got to see the sights which never get old.

Bally slot machines are few and far up here in Alaska, so you grab them when they come up for sale. This one is mostly complete, the cabinet is in good condition, nothing really out of place. Thanks to Wolftalk and his library of Bally slot machines I matched up the numbers, the wiring is in good shape. Wolftalk has educated me on these Bally slot machines and I have a library of Bally manuals, notebooks, that help me along. My goal is simple, 100% restoration.

Ok I just spent 20 minutes looking at the Google map of Alaska! Was it over ten hours??? That's crazy.
Then I began to realize you're not really that far from Russia!  :arrowthruhead:

Oh... make sure stray quarters didn't get into places they ought not to be, causing circuits you don't want.  :Tongue_Out: Sometimes they're already out of the hopper on the bottom, and moving the machine on it's back displaces the already displaced!

what's that gray stuff in the sky?  Is the ground damp because the snow melted withing the last couple days and it hasn't snowed again yet?

what's it cost you to ship a machine from canada or other places?

Nice road trip.

I’ve done the same thing, but no farther than 150 miles for low cost machines.
Turning the trip in to a mini vacation with my wife.
Spending the night is some other city and seeing the sights.

Alex my driver, can and will get the drive under 10 hours. These are his race cars, the orange one is stock, a daily driver.

He races in the Kenai, on asphalt, figure 8, it's an old PD car, fast as snot.
