Broken lever pawl

I have a Bally twin lightning that has been working. On a handle pull I heard a pop and the reels would not engage. Pulled reel assembly and found the trip lever pawl broke. The pin that the spring hooks to broke off flush with the lever.

Can I drill out the remainder of the pin that is still in the lever and put in another pin?

Any other options? Advice would greatly be appreciated.

Are you talking about the gear plate pin assembly?
Did you pull the pull handle mechanism and scrub it clean?
Did you pull the reel assembly and scrub it clean?
If you have a dirty assembly, it will create a lot more wear, stress on the parts.

It's the lever pawl that kicks the reels back then releases for them to spin. The spring number on you parts page is 23. The spring hooks to the pin that broke. The lever pawl is right below the spring in the pic. The slot was operating great till it broke.

if the pawl pivot pin broke, you'd want the entire trip operating lever assembly (17 in the diagram below).

however, ya said it was one of the smaller pins the spring connects to, so yup, you could drill and insert your own peg of some kind.  There's not much force on the spring, so if you had the original peg piece, you could probably epoxy it back on ... maybe drilling/installing a smaller dowel in the joint if you want it bulletproof.

emailing lots of highest possible resolution pics of the game front and internals to that address would be great too ... especially the top lamp panel both sides, inside of top compartment, the dual payout counters and all sides/top of the reel mech.

The broken pin came out easy with light tap, no drilling required. Had a roll pin that I installed with light tapping. Hooked up spring and slot is once again working.
