Dim Screen Corner Kortek MLD

I have a 22" MLD Kortek KTL220MD-04. The top corner is dim. I have replaced lamps in a monitor, but usually what I have dealt with is the whole straight top or bottom section goes dim and not a corner. I can't seem to find any info on this monitors lamp assemblies or inverters. I figured I would ask about it before I opened it all up. Then when I do open it all up maybe I can switch it to LED tape. Thanks.

I'm not sure if the fluorescent tubes would do go out in a square corner like that?
That rather looks more like a loose connection perhaps with aftermarket LED-backlighting sheets?
Maybe partial burned out LEDs ?
Only way to know for sure is to swap out the backlighting harnesses on the inverter board and see if the lighting is totally restored or the darkened area moves somewhere else.

Thanks! I know, we have all seem round fluorescent, but I have never seem a 90 degree. It's my Friday night project to start opening it up to see what is going on in there.

Wellllll. I made it worse. I dug into it just before getting to the tubes. This monitor was untouched, so no led conversion. it's just perplexing that it is a corner. I opened it up and replaced the fans while I was there. Wrong connectors on the fans, so I spliced those, no big deal. Unplugged everything and reseated it. Swapped the two outputs on the PCB as there are four of them and no change. Dug past the power PCB board and AD boards, and under there between those and the heat sinks is the inverter board. It 'looks' ok. It shows eight channels and four + and - power connections per channel, which seems like a heck of alot of tubes. Unplugged everything from that and reseated it very carefully. In the process of moving that all around the touchscreen ribbon cable ripped a little, which I had read someone else do in another post. Obviously these things have been under some heat and are more fragile then original. Now the corner of the screen is still dark and most of the touchscreen does not work. You can still work it all with the buttons. I could probably rig up the ribbon cable, but still have the corner dim, which again makes no sense. So this goes aside for parts and a new/used/working screen it shall be. Just pushes me back a little further from getting the ekey and more games as this is my first AVP. For $400 for the machine I can't complain. Of course most of the buttons are dim too, but that is way down the road if ever.

Thanks Chris! I picking up one locally for $350 that quick, so not the end of the world. I'm lucky here in south Florida with a bunch of suppliers I can drive to. I'll dig into this one at some point to see if I can MacGyver that ribbon cable. I'm just too curious as to what is going on with that panel lighting to put it away for good. I'll come back here when I play with it more.

I missed a PM saying...
It is likely part of your inverter board that powers the led backlights has gone out. 22” has leds not tubes. It is a sheet of LEDs back there.

Which makes much more sense. So I'll pickup another board as they are around $40 to see if that fixes it and then play with the ribbon cable.
