Door hinge help
« on: September 30, 2025, 07:38:22 am »
Hello all,

I just received a 1170-c joker wild machine for free. Everything works when I powered it up, which is a plus. I'm having an issue when the cabinet door when I try to open and close it. It seems the hinges are so worn that as soon as the door comes off the latch it drops. It looks like the previous owner adjusted the hinges all the way up but the door still catches and has to be lifted to get closed. Any have any recommendations on replacing or repairing? I also noticed the boot bolt on the cabinet that holds the hinge is loose. Is that something I have to remove the laminate to replace?  Thanks for the help

After getting some magnification on one the the hinges, it's a Soss hidden hinge #208. I have a set on order so we'll see what happens.
I'll deal with the broken stud once the new hinges arrive. Thinking I may have to get a self clinching threaded stud.

The new hinges worked great. This door now opens and closes flawlessly. My only recommendation is make sure you don't get the generic brands you see on Amazon and eBay. From my research the hole spacing is 1/4" (6mm) difference. Stick with soss brand.

I still don't trust the stud on the one hinge. If feels like it want to spin when I tighten the hinge. For now it seams to hold. Might just leave it alone till I look at redoing the laminating on the cabinet.
