Did you ever get Buffalo MAx? How does it work on older CPUs?

No I didn't. It's always a challenge to know what Helix games play on an Viridian WS. I know Helix XT and Arc games won't play. I wish there was a so called "bible" to go by so a guy knew which games play on what machine.

Here is a tip for you.  Anything with an OS X.6xx will not play.   OS 4xxx to X5.2X should work but there will be exceptions in the X5.xx

Also, if  you want to take that machine 1 step up, you can slide a Gen8 into it.  Just remove the mounting plate of the Gen8, it will marry up to the backplane.  However, Gen8 looks for 2 things, Digital sound and USB touch.  So you have to swap out the amp to a gen8 and the touch controller to a USB version.  I did this to my WS and was playing Helix games.  I no longer have the machine but was fun while I had it.  Opened up a whole new world to play.

Thanks for the valuable info. Will a Gen.8 cpu run Viridian WS games? Or should I ask if a Helix machine will play Viridian games. I know how to convert Cf to Cfast and visa versa. Thanks, KD

Most of the games I had were Gen8 converted to Cf cards to play but the few games I did have as CF card did play as Gen8.  It all depends on the version of Linux to support the USB touch

Not sure about that but any game on a CFAST card would
