IGT Fortune II Cursor Advance button not working
« on: October 01, 2025, 04:23:46 pm »
I have a Fortune II Video Poker machine. It stopped working properly so after reading this message board, I sent both boards to Alan at K-Lar. He made all necessary repairs. I plugged in the boards and everything looks great. I press the cursor advance button to restart and nothing happens. The self-test button doesn't work either. I've tried holding the button for different lengths of time with no success. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can do to get it to work?

Let me ask another way.
My machine stopped working so I had the battery replaced and the boards updated and repaired. I installed the boards and everything looks good. I have a message that says restart. I push the cursor advance button but nothing happens. Any suggestions how to restart my machine?

One way to restart a machine is to turn the power OFF, then after a few seconds, back ON.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have done that and also tried holding the cursor advance button while I turned on the machine.

My machine does not have a key. It has a toggle switch that doesn't seem to be working either.

It would help us to see pictures of the machine, board and these switches.
Pics need to be less than 1Mb each, max 5 per post.

Here is the picture of the inside of the machine. On the panel the outlet works, the on off switch works, the light works and the fuses seem to be in tact. The self test and cursor advance button don't seem to work.

Are you sure that isn’t the restart notification saying the machine was restarted?
Your current status appears above that where it says door open.

The current error is usually a different color then it goes blue once it is cleared. Then once you play a hand the message goes away completely.

If its has a message usually the reset key clears it other than door open.

Does the machine have a coin mechanism or a coin comparitor?
