Universal Dynamite slot machine repair needed (Memphis area)

Recently moved to the Memphis area, and looking for someone to repair my non-functioning Universal Dynamite slot machine.

What exactly is it doing? Did it work before? Does it power up? Any error codes?
Slot repair techs are becoming scarce. That's one reason this forum exists. We have some knowledgeable members who may be able to help you out.

Are you seeing any activity when you turn the power switch on?

The fluorescent lights will come on if there's 110vac. No lights? A fuse could be blown or the EMI filter in the power supply is open.

If the fluorescent lights come on and the LED displays do not then you could have a blown fuse for the 5vdc or there's an issue with the main CPU board. Over time the main board battery will leak and the acid will wipe out the foil traces on the board.

Post a picture of the inside, specifically the CPU board which should be located on the left side wall inside of the lower cabinet. If you're unable to locate a local repair tech then you can ship me the board and I'll repair and return within a weeks time.

Hi. When I plug it in, the machine turns on. No lights up top, but that's probably a bad bulb. The only error code is the '50 - Door Open'. The 'Insert Coins' light is flashing, it takes coins, but nothing else. Fuses all look good to the naked eye. I can cycle through self tests; the hopper spins, the reels spin, the LEDs work, the machine takes (up to) five coins, Inserted Coins LED advances, and the five Coin lights come on appropriately, the sound works, I can pull the handle, but nothing else happens. I can pull the handle at any time, whether coins have been inserted or not, and even when the machine is unplugged. The main CPU board looks good (to me).

Sounds like it's just about ready to play.

I'm betting the battery was dead and the memory is corrupt.

I do see some corrosion on the battery terminals. The battery should be changed and the surrounding area cleaned with electronics cleaner otherwise you'll continue to have startup issues.

Let's try an "ALL RESET" clear and see if the game runs. With the board reinstalled in the machine hold down the "ALL RESET" button on the CPU board and then power up the machine, hold the button down for about 3 seconds after the power is turned on. Then close and lock the main door. Try inserting a couple of coins and pull the handle.
