Coins into the cabinet

Hello,

I have a S2000 that all of a sudden started depositing the coins inside of the cabinet instead of the hopper.  Coins still register credit, just do not go in the hopper.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Picture of the comparitor is attached.

That sounds like to many coins in the hopper or the hopper probe is set to low. There is a screw that sticks into the hopper bowl, it is adjustable, when coins pile up on it , it provides a ground to trigger the diverter on the coin mech bracket. That diverter will direct the coins to the chute on the base of the machine to send them to a waiting bucket in the stand. Unplug the small two pin connector on the back of the coin bracket, this will remove the power from the diverter and coins should go back into the hopper.

The probe could be in the lowest hole ??

Hi Jim,

The machine has worked fine with coins for quite a while - the hopper probes have not been changed or touched.  The large probe (about 1") is in the top hole.  Very few coins are in the hopper.  I pushed all of the coins away from the smaller probes down in the lower part of the hopper - still deposits coins into cabinet.  I/O test 4.1.2 shows 0-Low for hopper level. When I removed the small two pin connector, as you suggested, all coins went into the hopper.  I reconnected it and the problem came back. It is hard to see what is going on with the diverter, could it have gone bad?

It can be caused by the door I/O card.

Swapped the I/O card with one from a machine that is/was currently working just fine accepting coins.  No change, still not working.  When I get a chance, I will swap the whole coin comparitor assembly with the one from the machine that is working.  This should tell me if the problem is mechanical or not. 

Is there any chance that issue could be caused by an incorrect setting, as I did replace the MPU recently?
