Does anyone know anything about the Model 401 Williams WMS Dotmation 40x reel slot machine jackpot party dot matrix upgrade to country party or beach party programming?

It's not so much an upgrade as it is a theme change.  Just need the EPROMs and glass for this one, I think the reel strips are the same. 

PS - This is a WMS 401 model, not 550.  550 is video.

Thats correct its a Model 401 Williams WMS Dotmation 40x reel slot machine. I'm looking for the upgrade for country party eproms and the glass I'm also needing to update the bill validator as this one isn't taking the new $50 and the last thing I'm trying to replace the locks but unsure of the size needed thanks

It's become harder and harder to find any parts or kits for these games as they're almost 30 years old.  Someone may have what you're looking for though.  If you are a subscriber, you could post a WTB ad in the classified section.  Or perhaps they'll see it here.  I don't have kits, but I have internal parts I plan on posting to eBay soon (CPU, I/O, Dotmation screens, etc). 

Regarding the bill validator, originally these games shipped with a DBV-145 unit.  They were slow to accept bills and now are obsolete, I don't think you can upgrade the EPROM anymore to accept newer bills but I could be wrong.  These machines can use a DBV-200, which are much faster and still easily available.  They're officially discontinued so I don't know how recent the latest firmware is.  eBay is probably best for finding these things.

The locks are just generic locks, used for slots, pinball, video games.  There isn't a specific 'Williams' lock, just search for one that looks similar to what you have and it will probably work.  The barrel should be 'oval' shaped, not totally round.  Personally, since my game isn't used commercially, I just use keyless locks that have a knob instead of a slot for the key.  Keeps the door closed, that's all I need.  You just want to make sure the length of the barrel isn't too long since the lock is really close to the coin hopper.  About 1" should work.  You can measure yours to make sure, I eyeballed mine just now to see and estimated about 1".

You could reach out to Terps on the board. He was big into those machines, but sold everything when he moved. He may be able to help with the game software, but probably not any parts. They are a PITA to setup as you have no menu, just a bunch of numbers to work off of.
With the bills, It does not do the new 50 or 100s either and there is nothing that works in that machine to accept them. I had two old 100 bills that I would just feed in it. I still have one machine, but it is out of Canada with the Casino Niagara player tracking panel and I just left the Canadian validator in it. I have two old Canadian 20s that I use. It is quarter software with all dollar coin handling, so a 20 puts on 80 credits instead of 20. I love the dotmation. Very classic casino slots. Jackpot Stampede Deluxe is what I keep on mine, very fun game and its what the wife and I played a lot on our honeymoon.

Can you post a picture of the BV.?  DBV-200 can be updated to accept the new $5, $10, $20, $50 and all old bills. I offer service to update DBV-200's.
