S2000 Multi-denomination insert card
« on: January 01, 2015, 12:37:33 am »
I finally figured out how to set up my multi-denomination pad, but I set if for 1¢/5¢/10¢/25¢ and apparently IGT didn't think anyone would ever want to do that combination.

I went through stacks of inserts at Jim's (Bettor Slots) but the best I could do was a 1¢/2¢/5¢/10¢ and a 5¢/10¢/25¢/50¢.

I got a transparency sheet and attached them to it, worked the bubbles out and scanned them, but after moving the values into the correct spots I wasn't happy with the results.  I think the 10¢ one is made incorrectly to match the others.

So I created my own insert sheet and will take it Friday to the copy shop to have it printed on translucent menuboard material.  If anyone knows what font(s) might be similar to the ones IGT used, please let me know!  This will do for now, I know it isn't perfect.

Here is my results after a couple of hours of tinkering and fine tuning... I kept the denomination colors but changed up the design...

Got anxious and went into my office and printed on regular paper and photo paper.  Regular paper is more translucent, but I am going to go see my friend at the copy shop and have her put it on the menuboard material.

Forgot to set my 3.x options, so I started spitting quarters on the floor when I hit the cashout...  Oops!  Forgot the tray was off!

Good job! If the copy shop option isn't something you are happy with, let me know as I have new inserts. I haven't looked for your specific combo, but I have over 50 different combos of denims, so I'm fairly certain I have it.

I like the designs on your though!  :cool_thumb_up:

WHY in the world does the attract mode on the multi-denom go 1:3:2:4 instead of 1:2:3:4?  :Scratch-Head: It's driving me crazy!  :duh: Should I swap the 5¢ and 10¢ to make them light in sequence, or leave them be and light 1¢/10¢/5¢/25¢???

All of the IGT templates are that way. Many have one and three set at the same value. That way you just place your finger on the left side to get the lowest denomination for the game. Likewise some have only two denominations say $1 and $2, $1 on the left side and $2 on the right. Buttons 1 and 3 along with with buttons 2 and 4 for $2.
If you want them to flash in sequence you will have to change your layout.

I decided to conform rather than fight with the system.  Here are the two inserts that I am going to take to the copy shop in a few minutes to get printed on the menuboard material...

The copy shop didn't have any of the polyester paper that she thought she had some samples of, so we just printed them on her thinnest standard paper for the time being...  Had to admit to my wife that she was right, the coins are too small to easily distinguish.  Shame, they would have been cool!

Well, of course, swapping demom 2 and 3 requires clearing... just as well, I wanted to change the payouts and clear the registers again anyways.

Grabbing a cold pink lemonade, my phone and speaker... what is music to slot machine mechanic by anyway?

See you in an hour or so after I get it all back to running.

Who knows?  Maybe I'll get my Deluxe Bettor TITO installed tonight too.

A key chip is all you need. You do not need to clear even to install TITO.

It would show the multi-denom keypad settings with the key chip, but not let me change, so I cleared and dropped the payback tables to 94.99% and lower.  (I think... I wrote it down downstairs)

Everything is functioning so I am going to swap my "Brian's TITO" board with my "Bettor Deluxe TITO".

Well, that turned out to be more stressful than it needed to be!

I pulled the Brian's and put the Bettor Deluxe in... well in the process the tray fell to the floor (I should have taken it all the way off!) and broke the divertor scoop (for full hopper/divert to base).  No big deal, I don't have a receiving base anyways.

Then I couldn't get my printer to work... it would test fine from the setup, but would say not present when I went to pay out... got frustrated and put the Brian's back in, printer worked.

Took the Bettor Deluxe upstairs and took another look at it... didn't have the config file for the IP quite right.  Plugged it in to the network upstairs and didn't get the webpage.  Restored it from the backup and it came up.

Took it downstairs and hooked it back up, couldn't get to the webpage.  Turned out the power cable from the Brian's wasn't providing enough current to the Bettor Deluxe, so I plugged the USB adapter into the service outlet.  Got the webpage to come up... tinkered with the SAS settings again and got the printer to print and acceptor to accept... SUCCESS!
