Pulled brushes out and sprayed down real good with contact cleaner. Motor turns free by hand.

Tested voltage and get 24.3v coming in on power block. See attached pic for where I tested

Plugged motor back into board and tested with no gearbox attached. Still get error. I also go into config and test hopper there and it always fails.

When pushing test buttons on hopper board the motor spins fairly fast and steady in forward. When pressing reverse button it is slower and kinda staggers a bit.

I have a V7S1000CLEAR-02EVO and a Bally Game Maker VIP P-10 Debug Chip coming from JJSlots. Will the debug chip give more detail on the error? And if I do a ramclear can I steup with no hopper and in demo mode so the machine is usable?

Debug only clears errors if the machine locks up with a system problem. No details .
I think you can de-select hopper but you need a set chip and you need to understand that you have to do a complete setup configuration, once you setup a GameMaker there is no backing up. So be sure to watch or read the posts on how setup works.
BRW the hopper motor never needs to run backwards other than to back out a jammed coin. If it runs forward the motor is doing what it needs to do.

I put the hopper completely back together. It spins freely in reverse (not forward like I had said before), but in forward in hesitates and stops at time. Do you think this is the motor? Even with out a load (not gearbox on it) it drags and hesitates.

Either that or the driver circuit ot the triac that turns the hopper motor on.
