New Epic Edge Printers

Patriot Gaming & Electronics has new "Epic Edge Printers",  a drop-in replacement for the older Epic 950. They have USB, Serial & Netplex interfaces, all in one. One printer for all machines. Price is $295. Casino Tech charges $615.
If you get tired of buying used printers that don't work, you have the option of buying new.

The above-mentioned printers are Patriot SKU# 030-EPIC-EDGE-R.  They are not new, they are "refurbished" as indicated by the -R at the end of the SKU#.  There website is a little misleading.

Imagine spending $600 dollars for a printer...that cannot print in color?

The Epic Edge printer was released in April 2022. It is a printer that's still in production and is supported. The printer I ordered was NEW from the factory. I ordered it through Casino Tech (My mistake, it was not Patriot Gaming that I purchased from).

For older machines that use Futurelogic or Epic 950, this Epic Edge is a drop-in replacement. It is a higher resolution (300 dpi) printer which has USB, Netplex and Serial all in the same chassis. One printer compatible with all machines. It might be a good option (new or refurbished) if you are tired of poor print quality or failure of older printers. I got frustrated with buying used or refurbished printers that don't work. Mostly Futurelogic RS232. The Netplex version didn't give me any comm problems, though both often suffer poor print quality. I recently threw away 7 printers that either failed to communicate (RS232) or had poor print quality. Several of my machines print tickets so poor that other machines won't accept them, but they all accept tickets printed with the Epic Edge.

New printers are expensive, around $600. I don't see anything wrong with refurbished as these printers are supported and new parts should be available.

As you will notice on this link there is the standard "Epic Edge" printer which was released in 2022, and there is a newer updated version called the "Epic Edge Plus" which was released in June-2025. The Plus version is the same printer with further upgrades and improvements and is actually cheaper. It boasts even better print quality. I have the std Epic Edge (1P-4T-NB).

Note that if you install this printer (std or Plus) in your machine, you're supposed to select Epic 950 in your setup menu. Also, for Bally machines there are specific dip switch settings. It's all in the downloadable manual.
