Bb2 backplane work with bb1 CPU?

I've been trying to get tito working on a bb1 stepper machine and neither port seems to be working with the Tito so I am considering trying a different backplane.  I have a bb2 backplane on hand and know people have converted bb1 machines to run nxt3.2 so I would think a bb2 backplane would work in a bb1.  Just want to double check.  No more should be needed correct?

Bump. I still haven't located a specific instance a bb2 backplane works without mods in a bb1.  I see backplane boards being advertised for bb1/bb2 which would insinuate one will work in the other.  But I am going for a reply with someone who's done just that, used a bb2 backplane on a bb1.

I could be wrong but I think it's basically a jumper configuration problem you have?
What pins are your BB2 jumpers set on?
Match them with whatever the BB1 jumpers were on.

BB1, BB2, and BB3 (Blade) ALL use the same backplane without further modification. I was able to run the original Gold Fish and a couple other BB1 video slots in a BB2 cabinet just fine.

Thank you Stayouttadabunker and hsjerry for the reply.  It really is good to have confirmation that I can go backwards on configuration. 

Brian with tito@home had been helping me through the possibilities of configuration and also jumpers and the conclusion is the backplane is bad.  I had tried both ports 1 and 2 both with clearing and resetting up the machine pointing to the correct port.  I was really hoping to have port 2 solve my issues but it appears I will have to try a backplane.
