G23 MLD touch issue

I've got a dressed touch screen issue on what's otherwise a beautiful display. The touch is correct in must areas except the center areas.  It is a kortek 22 inch monitor with the digitouch controller. 

I've tried cleaning the screen and between the screen and the bezel, recalibrating which it does well, changed the USB cable from the controller to the I/o all with no improvement.

I'm hoping to get some feedback.  I've showed this video too 2 buddies, each had the opposite thought from the other pertaining to the touch screen or the controller.

If you separate and remove the touch screen panel from the LCD panel, and hold it up to strong lighting behind it, you will see a million tiny fine scratches - that's what's throwing off the touch screen from your fingers.
Little old ladies diamond rings.
They LOVE rubbing their fingers across the glass for luck.
Only way to fix it, is to replace the TS panel itself.

Shoot!  Wasn't hoping for that but makes sense.  I guess I will have to look into replacing the panel.  Thank you for the feedback.

I know it wasn't the best news but that's what I found out for myself while servicing these touchscreens.
I showed my buddies at work, and they went "whoa"!    Lol
When I put in a new TS, using the original old controller, the panel worked perfectly.

That is not great news, although my problem child is not an MLD!
I have one doing the same thing, I have noticed the scratches and dull areas on the display when the machine is off.
I have thought of polishing the glass? I wonder?

I don't know what glass polish will get rid of diamond ring scratches on glass.
Let us know if that works.
In the casino industry, we'd just replace the touchscreen panel.

I am not talented enough to replace the touch screen, just an armature. It does not have scratches so much, as it just hazy? Like covered with micro scratches, it almost looks like old plastic.
You can't see them when it is lit up, just when the machine is off. But it acts just like the one shown in the video. Maybe I have another problem?

Try reseating the TS cable.
It looks like the cable for older desktop computer printers...the square ones.
It's on the bottom of the MLD monitor plugged in, facing left.

If that doesn't work, and you don't want to spends hundreds of dollars for another monitor, you need to find a technician that knows how to repair then...what is your zip code location?
Look for slot machine repair places maybe?
SOmebody has to remove the entire monitor off the door.
It's not easy to do if you've never done it before.

Something I have noticed, the touchscreen feels and looks like plastic? Is it possible that it has a mylar layer on it? It reminds me of the mylar that was put on pinball playfields back in the old days.if so, can that affect it, both of my G20’s have that look. If so, can it be peeled off with any success.
The touch screens do work the calibration is just kind of close.
I hope I am not hijacking someone else's thread here?
