Light and Wonder first bought out WMS for 1.5B in October of 2013, then paid 5.1B to acquire Bally Gaming on August 1st, 2014.

It goes back even further - Stargames (Australia), Shuffle Master, SHFL Entertainment, Scientific Games, Light & Wonder.

Stargames also licensed a number of WMS titles in Australia in the early 2000s, using its own PC3/PC4 platforms rather than WMS 550 etc. - the machines were literally x86 PCs inside a slot cabinet (IIRC a Socket 370 Celeron at around 1 GHz), even using a PC-style CRT and the cheap tinny-sounding speakers you'd find attached to the sides of said monitor.

The e* (eStar) cabinet looked and felt more plasticy and had slightly better speakers but still the same Celeron CPU (maybe 1.5 GHz by then) and 4:3 monitor combo.

Being so close to a regular PC, someone could probably get a PC3 game running in TeknoParrot without much issue, unlike say a MK7/Viridian or MK8/Helix which would most likely be a gigantic pain to even get to POST due to all the proprietary components. :)

I have added a random Stargames logo I stole from a website back in 2009 (according to the file's date) after they had been taken over by Shuffle Master, as trying to find anything about them on Google in 2025 is next to impossible.
