is it possible to zero out the meters on these machines just for home use play curiosity?

Are you talking about the hard mechanical meters on the door panel?
Or the internal accounting meters?

Oh boy, have you ever taken one of those physically apart?
Believe me, that's NOT something you want to do...how old are you?  :rotfl:

There's tiny gears, a solenoid, and a pawl inside that control like seven wheels...it's like a watchpiece.
You'd have to disassemble it, turn all the wheels to zero, then re-assemble it back together.
It's really not easy to do.
I've only done it once in 40 years (On an IGT S+ meter), and vowed to myself to never try that again...   :24:

The other way is to figure out how to make each individual meter click all the way to zero using a power supply and some Arduino-based program to send a signal to the solenoid continuously until all the wheels get to zero....good luck!
Now, with all that said, there ARE digital meters on the market, that have a reset-to-zero button on them.
The ones I've seen, work between 6-12vdc.
I just don't know what voltages are coming out of a Bluebird harness going to those hard meters.
You'd be better off just using the "Period" accounting meters in the accounting menus.
I may be wrong, but I think you can zero those "Period" amounts out - just the "Total", you can't.

That’s what thought. They’re not meant to be tampered with like the odometer in a car.  Wasn’t sure if you could open the face and click em over.  I imagine you could simulate it like you said but that would take forever.
