RTP Algorithms

I am curious if anyone has figured out how the IGT algorithms work between different RTP settings.  An easy way for the RTP algorithm to adjust to a lower RTP is to have a distribution of less frequent bonus or free game hits or less frequent line hits or some combination of the three.  The manufacturers give a caveat that the RTP settings are "theoretical" and over the life of the machine.  I haven't experimented with different RTP settings, I set mine at max RTP because I imagine it gives me more hits, but maybe not?

Could you post up a .pdf sheet of what you're talking about, as an example about this RTP? 
Also, which IGT platform....there's several different models that use different % programs.
IGT normally talks about "house percentages", rather than "Return To Player", after all, they're selling machines to the casinos, not to players.
What you're saying (RTP) is a term I see on "How I Beat The Casino At Slots" type of youtube videos.

Hey, friend.  I didn't mean to confuse an already complicated topic. 

Return To Player is how i'm oriented since I'm on the button-pushing end.  And, since i was posting in the AVP topic forum, I was inquiring about the "mechanics" of the respective payback/holdback algorithms of the Family 14 and Family 20 games.   I was curious if any one had experimented with the various settings and had seen some commonality in a change in the frequency between line hits and bonus hits and values of pay.  Or, if the volatility of a game changed.  Thanks.

Here's my 2 cents on that..>>>

The worst thing that makes my skin crawl is you get a bonus round going, after X amount of free spins, you end up with $12 bucks and you've been betting $2.50 per spin to get that stupid bonus? 
That's why I don't go to casinos anymore...I just work on them....lol

Ever notice the perecentages on AVP's?
They're boxed in between 98% down to about 85%
Nobody's ever going to set them for 98%, oand nly Trump's Taj Mahal boardwalk casino in AC, New Jersey in the 80's, had them all set at 85%...no wonder that place died out.
I know this because I had friends working in there...it was the worst place to gamble at in the country, at that time.

Now, allow me to contradict myself...try this....set up two AVP's side by side, with the same game, but with different %.
Say about 10% difference!
You will NOT be able to see any difference as you play.
Why
Because they're made to even out to their respective percentages over the course of about 10 million pulls.....not credits, pulls!
You will not live long enough to do that.
That's exactly what yu see on the PAR sheets....10 million pulls.
