Aristocrat newbie: Needs Help with ID and documents to use
« on: January 28, 2026, 06:39:51 pm »
Hey guys, would someone please tell me confirm I have here.

I've read thru the forum and am guessing this is a MK5 cabinet, a newer power supply and upgraded MK6-XP CPU.
Is this what a MK5 to MK6 modification consists of??

Aristocrat newbie here, starting a non working project MAV500.  I've worked with IGT PE+ and Bally V2000 so far, but nothing this advanced.

Coin handling has been removed.  SPC is 2.5 Type II
Previous owner drilled out the lock & removed the door latches (lost keys)
The power supply has external +12V converter that matches what the C3 Extreme manual shows.
I see a door switch? hanging in the wiring below the mother board

Thanks folks, once I know what I have, I'll have a better idea of where to go.

I've found the following manual titles, hoping someone can tell me WHICH ONE(s) match this equipment.

-usa_mav500mkvi
-Aristocrat USA MAV500 Video Gaming Machine Service Manual
-mav500C3XtremeServiceManual (MAV500 C3 and Xtreme)
-aristocrat 540 Video Service Manual (USA 540 Video)
-Service_MK6  (U.S.A. MAV500/MKVI)
- Aristocrat USA MAV500 Video Gaming Machine Service Manual

Are all these harnesses needed for home use??
Thanks

MK6 mainboard, MAV500 cabinet, needs more JPEG. Every PDF you mentioned is relevant to your machine except Aristocrat 540 Video (which is for the MK4/MKIV from the 1980s/90s, which was basically Aristocrat's answer to the PE+).

If it just needs setting up it should be a generic 20 line game which most likely allows either a 5, 10, 25 or 50 credit multiplier (e.g. 100/200/500/1000 max bet, it might even allow 20 credits/400). Variation options should be 99, 1, 2, 3 or 4 from worst to best. No idea about base compatibility but it's an early title so it will probably work with anything. As I'm on the other side of the world I don't have access to the US version so I don't know the exact RTP settings.

The machine is an mk6.  If the game doesn't play as it is now, you will need to ram clear and set the game up.  This requires a pair of set/ clear chips.  I think there are some instructions in this forum on the procedure for doing that.

Thanks guys, very helpful.

Is it correct that the version of set chip should be the same or greater than the base version?
ie... if the base chips are  01.04.16 should the set chips be 06.04.16 or higher ?
thanks

The set/clear chips don't need to match the system chips.  That's an older game, so virtually any set/clear version should work.  The newer versions are all backwards compatible.
