I found a post from a no longer active member Solidsilver. Here is what he said regarding 903:

 the 903 and 904 boards are identical; the only difference is that the 903 had a small game history memory chip, and the 904 has pads for a small piggyback board carrying a much larger memory chip. This expanded memory was a requirement for Nevada gaming machines. The circuit and physical pinout are the same, and they are interchangeable.

two 5101 RAM chips verses the 6116 RAM chip are certainly different memory approaches.

That is the strangest thing. After Alan asked for them I looked in the file system and I thought it was strange that there were only 5 or 6 CEI files but I shrugged it off and said to myself “if someone jumps in with them I will have to get them uploaded “.
I just looked again and saw there are 2 pages….which is what I remember seeing in the past.

Shrug again!

SolidSilver (Jim) and I worked a lot on the CEI section... well he worked more and I assisted, especially in transferring over the files from the old site to here. He was a joy to work with as well. He had me ask a question on what a KAR board is, so he could create a FAQ on it. He went missing years ago, never got any response. I knew he was older and had some serious health issues. I tried contacting him by e mail and phone. After a few years, I marked his profile as "in remembrance of." Well a month later, he was resurrected! He had been helping his wife for an extensive time, who was having her own health issues.
I was so happy to hear from him and quickly "made him alive" again.
But as of now, his last log in was 2021, nothing since that. I don't know if he's still with us or not. :(
