Bally Wave issue, possibly LCU, MPU?

Hi,

Having some issues with my Bally Wave 2.1 mpu, it boots and at some point the screen goes black and the supercandle turns on blue or green in that case.

It seems the reoccurence has increased from booting normally and playing for a few hours and then getting a black screen to not completing a boot at all and sometimes you can even hear like the mpu is restarting several times (vent on/off).

I just replaced the PSU with one from a V22/22 and that doesn't seem to solve the issue.

Could this be the LCU board? when the machine powers on the LCU light will be on for few seconds and then start blinking, sometimes it goes off all of a sudden or you see the led litterly bleed from full green to dark.
It's a PCA245961-0-0, could I replace it (to try) with a PCA245970 from the A22/22)? or are these incompatible?

Otherwise any suggestions what it could be (except the MPU itself?) Thanks!

I would start by removing and reseating the video card. Also reseat the MPU firmly. I had an intermittent problem with mine and that fixed it.

The instant the machine starts booting, the LCU is in diagnostic mode as it cycles each device through the colors Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet. Does your machine cycle through each color correctly?

I don't know if the LCU boards are interchangeable. I know that for the Alpha Pro Wave there are several different boards of different part numbers. I wouldn't try switching them.
