WMS BB1 Dirty Touch Screen Cleaning

Any advice or videos available on how to disassemble and clean the touch screen on a WMS BB1?  My Super Jackpot Party has smudges between the glass and can not be cleaned from the outside.  Debating on whether to try disassembling and cleaning this myself but have never done it.  I have heard you can use fishing line to get the sheets of glass apart and others have said they use a knife blade.  Last thing I want to do is crack the screen and have to buy a new one!  Thanks!

If you use wire, wear gloves and a face protector shield.
Also, a turtle neck sweater...protect your neck.
It's that stupid rubber they put between.
Hardened from the heat and age...you'll have to completely get it ALL off and replace it.
You'll also need acetate tape.
It's kind of like cloth tape but with a super sticky adhesive that doesn't slip when warmed up.
The wrong tape will slide off the metal.
You also have to be especially careful near the ribbon cable...those are normally brittle - from the heat.
You move them too much, they'll snap.

Is it a CRT monitor? If so I did a post on my step-by-step process.
As mentioned there are several things you need to be aware of to avoid damage. Personally I use dental floss because I don’t care if it breaks…and it will likely break before the glass or film.

The purpose of all that adhesive strips is to keep it sealed because there is a gap between the touch panel and the tube. Yes, some dust will work in over 20 years but you will be very happy once you clean it all out.
