Need help! S+ Plus dreaded 3100 error won't clear

Yes and I installed the new optics and that didn't work. Sorry I'm just frustrated at this point.

About the cherry switch where do I get one of those? What brand is it?

If you have door optics you don’t need the cherry switch.

You had a bypass in place. The cherry switch was to manually break/make the connection when the door was closed. Just like the light in the refrigerator.

With the door open press the white test button a couple of times - the winner paid / coins paid should change. When you close the door do the codes clear. The reels should spin once.

If it doesn’t then the machine is not seeing the door as closed. We need to resolve this before anything else will operate. The next steps will be to look at the wiring harness connected to the optics.

If you can take some pics of these and post it will be helpful.

Your two wired harness for the door emitter has a purple wire and a green wire.
You need to simply splice a piece of wire about 4 feet long to it.
Run it back along the door behind the buttons under the deck, across under the reel shelf then up against the right-hand wall of your cabinet above the reel shelf.
That wire will get soldered to the outside tab on your cherry switch.
A cherry switch normally has 6 tabs...which is actually two sets of 3 tabs.
So pick a set of 3 tabs and solder your 4 foot wire to an outside tab.

Moving on, splice a 1 foot piece of wire to the cabinet harness.
The cabinet side optic receiver harness has 3 wires...two of which are green, the other single one is red.
You will be using the red wire.
Splice your 1 foot wire to the red wire and solder it to the outside tab of your cherry switch.
Now, when you close the door, a flat plate will push the cherry switch's plunger in.
That will close the circuit you've made, and the MPU computer will think that the door, is closed.
Your door optics are now effectively, bypassed.

I never made a video of this.
If you cannot understand this, just wait for your door optics to come in, simply plug them into your machine. and you're done.

When your bypass or door optics are working, just open and close the door once, to get rid of the [3100] extra coin paid out error.
Service your coin hopper brakes."

You didn't tell me where to connect the wire (the 4 footer). I'd like to try this bypass. Can you shoot a quick video if you have time? I want to hook it up correctly. Thanks in advance

Twist the end of the long wire to the short wire...that would be the same thing as a closed cherry switch/door.
The [3100] should immediately go away.
If the [Insert Coin] light comes ON, try inserting a coin and hitting the spin button or pulling the handle.

SOLVED: it was a wiring issue on the door. A tech friend helped get her going and fixed a couple other issues!

She's 100% usable now!

The coin hopper had a .50 cent pinwheel and we changed it out to .25 cent. There was some jenky wiring with the florescent lights that got soldered. And the bill validator was faulty (as I knew) and we replaced that and the machine happily accepts coins and money now. There was also issue with the plugs on the reels. The sounds were off for spinning and now they are on. The credits go to the machine instead of dropping out the hopper every time you win!
