Converting Bally S6000 from Nickels to 50 Cents
« on: March 27, 2026, 07:54:00 pm »
Hello All,

I'm looking to convert my current Bally S6000 slot machine from Nickels to 50 Cents. I already have a 50 cent hopper. I found the dipswitch mechanism to change the denomination from 5 cents to 50 cents (it does have a working bill accepter). And the coin comparator easily accepts a half dollar. However, I cannot get the coin into the machine as it stops right before it drops into the coin comparator. Is this something that is easily adjusted? it looks like the coin entry area is a two piece item. I wasn't sure if any of the screws on the back and adjusting them would allow the half dollar to enter the machine.

Thanks,

~ Justin

The screws are just to secure the back plate to the coin head.
You need to find a larger coin head and entry plate.

I'm not sure if you have to be a Contributing NLG member or not, but could you try posting a WTB ad in the Classifieds section of NLG?
Hopefully a vendor/member will spot it and have one for you?

Much appreciated! What if I try to file down the entry point with a small file? Would that work? Seems like everything beyond that point would accommodate the half dollar.

Thanks

It's probably NOT going to look too good? IDK.
I've never filed one down, but I'd imagine there'd be no chrome left, if you did that?
A fella named Holslot is selling some Bally coin heads...look!...>>>

Yes you can file the piece after you remove the 2 screws to get it apart. I have done several IGT 5c ones. Made them wider to accept 25c.

Much appreciate the advice! I'll look on the classifieds! Looking for 50 cent glass displays too!
